GRAEF celebrated our 65th anniversary this past July. We have grown to a staff of over 300 engineers, architects, scientists, planners, technical specialists and corporate group members. Our Headquarters are in downtown Milwaukee, right above the 3rd Street Market Hall, an iconic Food Hall that opened in 2022. We have branch offices in Green Bay and Madison, WI, Chicago, Minneapolis, and 3 FL offices located in Orlando, Miami and Sarasota. GRAEF is more than just a business. We have an exciting opportunity for 2 students to join our team of professionals through a Co-op experience at our Milwaukee Headquarters office, beginning in Summer 2027.
As a Co-op student, you'll gain valuable, hands-on experience through 4 Co-op sessions. You'll have the opportunity to explore a broad range of civil engineering disciplines and contribute to real-world projects involving sewer and water systems, environmental engineering, site development, municipal engineering, surveying, construction inspection, and street, highway, traffic, and bridge design. This is a great opportunity to build your technical skills, gain exposure to different areas of civil engineering, and learn from experienced professionals while working as part of a project team.

We are looking for students who meet the following qualifications:
  • Be in or approaching sophomore status, with a projected graduation year of 2030, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil, Construction, or Environmental Engineering.
  • Ability to learn quickly, grasp new concepts, and take initiative.
  • Enjoy a balance of independent work and collaboration with a project team.
  • Prior internship or related work experience is a plus.
  • Completion of a Surveying course and experience with Civil3D software is a plus.
