Our 280,000 sq. ft. facility houses over 160 CNC machines, including vertical turning lathes, horizontal boring mills, high-speed 5-axis machines, and more! JOB SUMMARY

Precise Tool & Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Co-op student who is looking to complete their first co-op requirement within our fast-paced CNC machine shop. This is a single-block Co-op opportunity. The selected candidate will work alongside the Engineering team supporting Project, Programming, and Quality Engineers, and will be expected to interface with all team members on a daily basis. Our goal is to provide a first-time Co-op student with a comprehensive understanding of the manufacturing process—from inception to delivery.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Create blueprints from customer supplied model files.
  • Create 3D model files for supporting outsource purchasing operations.
  • Assist Toolcrib in high-speed machining tool selection and tool set-up.
  • Assist Toolcrib personnel to learn tooling nomenclature and proper application of tooling.
  • Perform precision and production assembly.
  • Make prints and downloads files from secure customer sites.
  • Maintain electronic master file system.
  • Support production quality documentation.
  • Monitor emails and prepares documents for quoting.
  • Collect Production Tracking forms and logs information into Excel.
  • Utilize Inspection Manager Software to create bubbled drawings and QCRs.
  • Create In-Process Inspection Reports coordinated by Quality Control and Floor Supervisors.
  • Work in Assembly to learn about Heli coil, dowel pin, and pem installation.
  • Work in Quality Control to learn about inspection methods.
  • Update and submit Production and Engineering forms for review.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Understanding of mechanical fasteners
  • Knowledge of computers, Microsoft products (primarily Outlook, Excel, and Word), and the ability to work with many different file types is critical
  • Understanding of installation tools
  • Ability to troubleshoot
  • Ability to create concise visual instructions

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Engineering



According to the New York Pay Transparency law, the pay rate for this job is $21.00 / hour.
