Job Description:

Saab, Inc.'s Surveillance Software is currently looking for motivated, creative, inquisitive, and talented Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering college students for a Summer 2027 (May-August 2027) co-op/internship.

The Software Engineering Co-Op will develop their skills and put their education into practice on real-world products while making significant contributions to a safer society. Candidates will actively participate in the software development for air traffic management systems in use at today's airports.

Compensation Range:$20.27-$22.30/hr
In addition to a competitive hourly rate, Saab Inc. offers a sign-on bonus to off-set housing expenses for Co-Ops residing outside the typical office commuting distance.

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:

  • Object-Oriented Design and Programming with C++, Python, and/or Java

  • Familiarity with scripting languages

  • Experience with Linux or Unix development environment


Desired Skills

  • Experience with software design patterns

  • Familiarity with version control tools like Subversion and GIT

  • Experience with with Javascript, HTML, CSS

  • Experience with unit test frameworks (e.g. Junit, GTest, JTest, cppTest, googletest)

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in an accredited degree program, with a major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better

  • United States Citizenship

  • Must have completed Sophomore year or greater
