Role Description:

The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up and operating CNC Mill and Lathe machines.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC Machine in a work cell environment.
  • Make adjustments as required on CNC Machine Control to conform to all quality and print specifications and instructions given with each work order.
  • Move Store and Load machines with material and associated tooling within or required for the work cell.
  • Produce samples for engineering or short run production as required.
  • Feeds metal parts into the machine for a specific bend to be placed in it
  • Programs the Laser for specifics of part cutting
  • Loads metal sheets and removes skeletons once cuts are completed
  • Cleans scrap area
  • Add coolant into CNC Mill & Lathe machine at beginning of shift
  • Cuts bars to specifics for job
  • Loads bars into lathers for cutting
  • Do safety inspection on Laser Crane daily
  • Maintain and monitor machine performance as instructed and perform regular scheduled preventive maintenance that is assigned to the operator.
  • Inspect all work to insure conformance to all specifications.
  • Maintain a clean safe and efficient department by following 5S lean principles as a daily part of job performance (Sort, Simplify, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain)


Minimum Educational Qualifications:

  • Understanding of difference in materials used in manufacturing
  • Willingness to make useful suggestions and grow department
  • Set up and operate CNC Machine in a work cell environment.
  • High School Graduate with 2 years CNC machining or laser operation
  • 2 years of experience in operating a CNC Machine desired
  • Any machining or training school certificates demonstrating proficiency desired


Minimum Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • Operator will be trained on Argo Seiki Processing Machine. Training will be done on any new equipment such as a future CNC Machine used in machining parts.
  • Operator must have a good working knowledge of CNC Control operation in order to make necessary adjustments to set up and maintain machines in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Operator must be qualified to operate material handling equipment such as a lift truck and hoist to move and store materials within or needed for work cell operation.
  • Operator must be able to read and understand prints and quality specifications and use measuring devices to measure and ensure conformance to specifications.
