Responsible for creating, optimizing, and managing CNC programs for our Amada fiber laser/punch machines. You will play a crucial role in our production process by ensuring maximum material utilization, precise cutting operations, and efficient workflow from engineering drawings to the finished sheet metal parts.
  • Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for Amada fiber laser machines using industry-standard CAD/CAM software (e.g., AP100US, Dr. ABE Blank).
  • Nest parts efficiently to minimize scrap and maximize material yield.
  • Read and interpret technical blueprints, engineering drawings, and 3D CAD models to determine cutting requirements, dimensions, and tolerances.
  • Determine optimal cutting sequences, laser parameters, and feed rates based on material type (steel, aluminum, stainless, etc.) and thickness.
  • Work closely with machine operators on the shop floor to troubleshoot cutting issues, resolve alarms, and adjust programs to ensure high-quality output.
  • Generate and maintain accurate setup sheets, tool lists, and organized digital files of all part programs and revisions.
  • Coordinate with the engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to resolve design-to-manufacturing issues and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements
  • Amada Laser Punch Combo Programming experience in a sheet metal manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Amada programming software (AP100US, Dr. ABE, etc.) and standard CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
  • Deep understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, flat pattern layouts, bend deductions, and material properties.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a technical degree or certification in CNC programming or manufacturing technology is a plus.
  • Ability to sit at a computer workstation for extended periods.
