Job description

Summary:

The CNC Laser Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining CNC laser cutting equipment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up jobs, monitoring production, inspecting parts, and ensuring quality and safety standard are met.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines (fiber or CO2)
  2. Load programs and adjust cutting parameters as needed
  3. Load/unload material using forklifts or overhead cranes
  4. Monitor machine operation and make minor adjustments
  5. Perform first-article and in-process inspections
  6. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and cut sheets
  7. Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning
  8. Maintain accurate production and quality records
  9. Follow all safety procedures and shop standards
  10. Work with supervisors and programmers to improve efficiency
  11. Other duties assigned


Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

Previous CNC laser experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools (calipers, tape measure, micrometers)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
  • Forklift or crane experience a plus
  • Use proper personal protective equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Trumpf, Bystronic, Mitsubishi, Amada, Mazak or similar laser systems
  • Sheet metal fabrication experience
  • Nesting software or CNC programming knowledge

Must me able to complete a background check and pass a pre-employment drug test prior to starting and after offer is made.
