Job description

CNC Laser Programmer – 1st Shift

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced CNC Laser Programmer to join our growing manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC programming, CAD/CAM software, and metal manufacturing. In this role, you’ll be responsible for turning engineering drawings and designs into efficient CNC programs that produce high-quality finished products. You’ll work closely with production and design teams to optimize processes, troubleshoot issues, and ensure parts are produced accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze job orders, drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine production requirements
  • Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software
  • Set up CNC laser equipment according to production specifications
  • Perform test runs and make program adjustments to ensure parts meet quality and dimensional requirements
  • Optimize programs to improve production efficiency, minimize material waste, and maintain product quality
  • Maintain accurate records of CNC programs, machine operations, and program modifications
  • Troubleshoot programming, machining, and production issues
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, and production teams to resolve machining or assembly issues
  • Communicate effectively with production personnel and supervisors to maintain an efficient workflow
  • Train and assist machine operators with proper equipment operation and troubleshooting
  • Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
  • Proven experience as a CNC Programmer in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience programming CNC laser machinery preferred
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software and CNC programming systems
  • Strong understanding of metal properties, fabrication, and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • CNC programming/machining diploma or certification required
  • 4-year degree or equivalent work experience
  • Previous CNC laser programming experience strongly preferred
