Job description

Laser Programmer/Operator

Role

As a Laser Programmer and Operator, you will be responsible for manufacturing metal products using advanced CNC laser cutting machines. This position requires a keen focus on machine operation to ensure optimal performance and product quality. You will manage the setup and operation of CNC lasers on a daily basis while providing support to fellow CNC operators.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and maintain CNC laser cutting machines according to instructions and shop orders.

Oversee workflow of work orders to ensure quality compliance.

Download, modify, and implement laser programs to enhance performance and maximize yield.

Identify and verify materials for production, suggesting changes to optimize output.

Input and configure machine settings, ensuring proper components like lenses and assist gases are used.

Continuously monitor machine performance and report maintenance needs.

Conduct quality tests and inspections to maintain accurate records.

Manage and update the Bysoft7 database for efficient retrieval of drawing files.

Optimize nesting requirements based on material type and thickness to minimize scrap.

Create and transfer nesting programs to align with production schedules and ensure timely processing.

Collate utilization data and assess laser performance against manufacturing goals.

Provide input for quality investigations and resolve non-conformances.

Maintain cleanliness of machines and work areas, using appropriate cleaning methods.

Stage raw materials for production needs and assist with loading and unloading tasks.

Perform minor maintenance, machine alignment, and optic cleaning to ensure optimal performance.

Communicate inventory needs and track material drops, managing all consumables.

Complete additional duties as assigned by management.

You are expected to proficiently operate and set up CNC laser cutting machines while ensuring efficiency and accuracy in production. You must be adept at troubleshooting machine malfunctions and making quick, informed decisions to maintain workflow. Employment Details

Full Time, Day Shift 6 am to 2:30 pm with overtime opportunities

Compensation: - $15.00 to $25.00 /hour, Dependent on Experience
