Perioperative Nurse Residency Program

Do you dream of becoming a Perioperative Nurse? Here's your chance! Stamford Health is holding a Perioperative Residency Program for Experienced Registered Nurses!

Anticipated Program Start Date will be for September 2026

The Operating Room Residency Program (Periop 101) is a 6-8 month rigorous & blended program with online modules created by the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) and Stamford Hospital Perioperative Services.

This program combines a standardized, evidence-based online curriculum and textbook readings with hands-on skills labs and clinical practicum. All Periop 101 students receive a one-year complimentary AORN membership.

The Periop 101 course is comprised of online learning modules, simulation, and direct patient care experiences. The course is designed to build on basic skills and integrate daily learning into practice. The Periop 101 students will learn to circulate and scrub.
