Job description

At VASA Fitness, we're more than a gym--we're a community built on unity, passion, love, integrity, fun, and trust. We create UPLIFTing experiences for everyone through inclusive, accessible, and on-trend fitness. VASA is a place where lives are changed through authentic connections, growth, and support--for both members and team members.
We're looking for a Maintenance Technician who takes pride in their work and enjoys hands-on problem solving to play a critical role in keeping our clubs safe, functional, and welcoming for members every day.
We are opening a brand-new club-and we're building the team now. Training begins in September! This is a unique opportunity to train together, grow together, and help shape the culture from day one.
You'll travel to another market for training at an established club-learning the role, building connections, and bringing that experience back to launch your new location.
HOW YOU WILL CHANGE LIVES
As a Maintenance Technician, you play a key role in delivering a positive member experience by keeping the club safe, functional, and welcoming. Your work allows members to focus on their fitness while ensuring equipment, facilities, and systems operate reliably every day.
This role offers hands-on exposure across facility maintenance, equipment repair, preventive maintenance, and safety compliance. You'll collaborate closely with club leadership, respond to work orders through a CMMS system, and take ownership of repairs that keep operations running smoothly--while building valuable technical skills in a fast-paced environment.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
When you join VASA, you'll find more than a job--you'll find a place to belong. Our team members believe in our mission, hold high standards, and give energy to others every day.
  • COMPENSATION: $19.00--$25.00 per hour, based on experience and current certifications plus $80 monthly phone reimbursement
  • On-the-job training with opportunities for approved certification reimbursement, including OSHA and CPO
  • Flexible scheduling based on club needs in collaboration with the General Manager; non-traditional shifts may be available
  • Career growth opportunities: many leaders in our operations organization began their careers as Maintenance Technicians
  • Wellness is a priority! All employees receive two complimentary gym memberships--one for you and one to share
  • All employees are eligible to participate in 401(k) options and the Employee Assistance Program -- FREE therapy, financial advising, legal advice, and more
  • 40 hours/week employees: Paid Time Off, Health, Dental, Vision benefits, Paid Parental Leave, Flexible Vacation Plan, and Paid Holidays

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Interest or experience in maintenance, facilities, construction, or a related hands-on field
  • 1--2 years of maintenance experience preferred, but we're willing to train the right candidate
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
  • Experience or comfort using CMMS / maintenance management software, work order systems, and basic project management tools (MaintainX, Asana, Microsoft Office, or similar)
  • Basic computer skills to utilize online resources to track work orders, locate parts, or access repair guides
  • Valid driver's license required; ability to occasionally use a personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Clear communication skills and comfort providing daily updates to leadership
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently and with a team

Certifications such as CPO, welding, or related trade credentials are a plus--but not required.
WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE?
  • Performing routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance on club equipment and building systems
  • Responding quickly to maintenance requests and emergency issues to minimize equipment downtime and disruption to club operations
  • Maintaining cardio, strength, and general workout equipment in safe, working condition
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues
  • Accurately documenting work completed, parts used, and repairs in the CMMS system
  • Completing club walks and communicating safety concerns to club leadership
  • Taking ownership of general facility upkeep, including painting, wall patching, carpentry, and groundskeeping
  • Partnering effectively with the General Manager, District Manager, vendors, and contractors as needed

We are proud to be a Great Place to Work® certified company.
