CMH Medical Assistants are healthcare professionals who work within Community Mental Health (CMH) settings to support physicians and other mental health providers. They perform both administrative and clinical tasks, such as scheduling appointments, taking patient histories, measuring vital signs, and assisting with examinations or procedures. Their role is vital in ensuring smooth operations in CMH clinics, enhancing patient care, and helping coordinate services for individuals with mental health needs. They may also provide support in managing medical records and patient communications. The position often requires specialized knowledge of mental health conditions and community resources.

What does a CMH medical assistant do?

As a CMH Medical Assistant, your day typically involves a blend of administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records, as well as clinical duties like taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and assisting physicians during procedures.
