Job description

Position Summary

The Kids Club Supervisor is responsible for creating and maintaining safe, interactive care for children registered for Kids Club programming at Fitness Connection clubs. This includes managing Kids Club teammates to ensure they are attentive and engaged in activities that are appropriate and safe for children in the care of Fitness Connection during all Kids Club hours of operation. The Kids Club supervisor is also responsible for ensuring the physical environment of the Kids Club space is safe at all times, which includes ensuring all operational procedures and standards are met consistently. This is a working manager role; Kids Club Supervisors are expected to be actively engaged with children while fulfilling the responsibilities of a supervisor.

LEADERSHIP

Connecting and engaging with our kids with safe, fun and age appropriate activities makes everyone's day brighter.

Leading your Kids Club teammates to provide an amazing and safe Kids Club, focused on the children in your care creates an EPIC environment for all.

Operates all equipment in Kids Club to ensure safe play and well-being of children in Kids Club

Communicates with Club Manager and Team Support Center to identify or develop activities that work within the facilities provided in the club's Kids Club area

Engages children in safe, fun active games or activities during their stay in Kids Club

Identifies and engages in calm activities such as coloring sheets, word searches, hidden picture activities, and/or other activities to allow children to calm themselves or otherwise be entertained if not engaged in active play

Monitor and maintain inventory of Kids Club supplies as needed

Ensure teammates continuously interact with the children in a positive and age-appropriate manner

Schedule Kids Club teammates appropriately to ensure proper children-to-teammate ratios, adherence to budgeted hours, and all governmental regulations related to wage and hour (e.g., FLSA standards)

Train, coach and develop all Kids Club teammates to ensure high performance and engagement, immediately addressing unacceptable behavior when needed

Evaluate Kids Club teammates' performance on a regular basis, celebrating great performance and coaching to improve as needed

The safety and well-being of the children and teammates in our Kids Club is our number one priority.

Ensuring all Kids Club procedures, company policies, and government regulations are consistently followed creates a trusted environment for all.

Monitor room and equipment to ensure all areas are safe and hazard-free for children in Kids Club

When an unsafe condition is observed, ensure children are removed from the area until the unsafe condition is made safe and report the issue immediately

Ensure safe contact between teammates and children Ensure safe contact and play among the children

Ensure unauthorized adults are not allowed to enter Kids Club or engage with children in the care of Kids Club

Respectfully communicate with parents/caregivers regarding safety, well-being, and behavior or children in Kids Club as needed

Consistently monitor child-to-teammate ratios Strictly adhere to all registration and check-in procedures

Ensure all required paperwork, forms, and documentation is completed, accurately and on-time

Monitor adherence to restroom policies and procedures Strictly adhere to all check-out procedures

Recognize and report child neglect and abuse per company and government policies

Requirements

  • Infant and Child First Aid and CPR and AED certification required within 30 days of employment required
  • Prior experience working in a child care setting required
  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) strongly preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to handle escalated customer issues with patience, tact, and professionalism.
  • Must demonstrate patience, compassion, and healthy interactions with children of various ages and developmental abilities
  • Must have a high level of professionalism, honesty, integrity, and work ethic
  • Works independently and within a team
  • Ability to care for children of all ages
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, remote work environment with a positive attitude
