Cloud Engineer 3
Location: Chicago, IL, Peoria, IL or Dallas, TX – Onsite; 5 days in office

Job Duties
As a CloudOps Engineer, will be responsible for ensuring stable operations of the AWS Cloud Operations is responsible for maintaining standards and practices in Cat Digital's AWS environment. This role will be to manage, control, administer, monitor, and improve the status of resources deployed in our AWS cloud environment. You will be responsible for proactive configuration changes to minimize operational disruptions and oversight of cloud services that are used by the organization.
Education & Experience Required
- 5-7+ years or more of software development experience.
Technical Skills (Required)
- 5+ years of Cloud Operations experience
- 5+ AWS-specific experience
- AWS Operations experience (CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Trusted Advisor, Health, Athena, Support)
- Experience working with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub.
Technical Skills (Desired)
- Additional AWS Certifications related to Cloud Administration, DevOps, or Architecture
- Experience writing Infrastructure as Code deployments using AWS CloudFormation or Azure ARM Templates
- Experience writing scripts in Python, PowerShell, Bash or other interpreted language
- Experience in automating & implementing IAM for cloud infrastructure
- Prior operational experience with Cloud Service Providers other than AWS (preferably Azure)
Soft Skills (Required)
- Analytic mindset and skilled problem solver for troubleshooting issues
- Great verbal and written communication skills to collaborate cross functionally
Position's Contributions to Work Group
• Creating and maintaining cloud systems and processes. • Work with AWS to analyze issues and create solutions based on AWS best practices. • Identify and implement automated solutions to support operational and development efforts. • Monitor and manage AWS Cloud environment. • Works independently on complex systems or infrastructure components that may be used by one or more applications or systems. • Maintains high standards of cloud operational quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits • Identifies and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team • Communicate with internal team and internal customers to help direct development, debugging, and testing of application software for accuracy, integrity, interoperability, and completeness • Worker is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.
