Job description

Hattie Larlham Center for Children with Disabilities is looking for a caring and compassionate 1st Shift Nurse Manager (RN) who wants to be part of a mission based on Comfort, Joy, and Achievement of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Cleveland / Akron area.

Opening:

  • Full-Time Nurse Manager, salaried, exempt
  • 1st shift, 8:30am - 5:00pm and 6:30am - 3:00pm (2 positions), Monday - Friday, on-call required
  • Position pays $37.03- $59.24 based upon experience
  • Based in Mantua, Ohio - 124-bed facility in Portage County

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Nursing required, bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Ohio or multistate Registered Nurse licensure required, active status and without disciplinary action to maintain employment.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' nursing experience. One to two years of nursing supervisor and/or management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience working with persons with disabilities preferred. 
  • Ohio Driver's License.
  • BLS CPR certification - free training/recertification provided.

Duties:

The Hattie Larlham Nurse Manager manages a high performing team of RNs and LPNs and works collaboratively with the Center’s Medical Team for continuous improvement of nursing practice. Provides guidance for continuous quality nursing services within the Center Nursing department. Assesses and identifies healthcare needs of persons served. Ensures development of Individual Service Plans regarding nursing services. Maintains compliance with standards of care and with applicable federal and state regulations.

  • Provides leadership, supervision, and guidance to Center Nursing staff in the delivery of care and services to meet the health needs of assigned individuals.
  • Supervises LPN and RN Staff Nurses and coordinates the services provided. Addresses staff performance issues in a professional, constructive, and timely manner, using the Corrective Action process to remediate issues and provide clear expectations for immediate improvement.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring, and review of the Nursing Component of the ISP.
  • Participates in medical rounds with the Medical Team to provide current relevant clinical information on persons served and to bring back and disseminate information and direction from the Medical Team to the department staff.
  • Secure, obtain, and follow-up clinical documentation for prior authorization of insurance carrier.
  • Complete ventilator authorizations, tardive dyskinesia assessments, track IV Management, and laboratory services.
  • Required to cover floor nurse vacancies, on any unit, as needed or as assigned by the Director and participates in mandatory on-call rotation for the Center as support for the urgent and/or emergent needs of the persons served.
