About the Role:

Large Nephrology practice seeks a Clinical Assistant for its Columbia, MD and Baltimore, MD offices. This position involves traveling between the two offices. The employer pays for onsite parking and mileage between the offices.

The Clinical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting healthcare professionals by ensuring the smooth operation of clinical activities and delivering high-quality patient care. This position involves assisting with patient preparation, managing clinical documentation, and facilitating communication between patients and medical staff. The Clinical Assistant contributes to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment, which is essential for effective healthcare delivery. By performing administrative and clinical support tasks, the Clinical Assistant helps optimize workflow efficiency and enhances the overall patient experience. This role requires a compassionate, detail-oriented individual dedicated to supporting both patients and healthcare teams in a dynamic clinical setting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in healthcare or similiar experience
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • CPR/BLS Certification
  • Proof of Flu Vaccine
  • Ability to comply with patient confidentiality and healthcare privacy regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant or Clinical Assistant.
  • Experience with Allscripts, Veradigm, and EMR
  • Previous experience working in a clinical or healthcare environment
  • Familiarity with medical billing and coding processes

Responsibilities:

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient preparation and clinical procedures as directed
  • Record and update patient medical histories and vital signs accurately in electronic health records
