Job description

WCS Healthcare is partnering with a respected Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Baltimore, MD to identify a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse for a Treatment & Triage role within their Urgent Care department.

This is an excellent opportunity for an RN who is passionate about serving underserved populations and making a meaningful impact in the community. The health center provides immediate medical care to patients from all walks of life, including individuals experiencing homelessness and other barriers to healthcare access.

Position Overview

The Treatment & Triage RN will be a key member of the Urgent Care team, responsible for managing the triage line, assessing patient needs, coordinating care, and providing direct nursing support.

This role works closely with:

  • Medical Providers
  • Medical Assistants
  • Phlebotomy staff

The clinic sees approximately 10-15 patients per day, primarily scheduled visits, while also welcoming walk-in patients requiring immediate care.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and respond to incoming triage calls
  • Assess patient symptoms and determine appropriate levels of care
  • Provide treatment and nursing support in an urgent care setting
  • Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to coordinate patient care
  • Educate patients regarding treatment plans and follow-up care
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient communications accurately
  • Support a diverse and underserved patient population with compassion and professionalism

Qualifications

Required

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Previous triage experience (required)
  • Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills
