SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, the Clinic Lead is responsible for providing leadership to Patient Care Coordinators, Medical Assistants, and Operators, as well as ensuring efficient clinic flow, patient care, and customer service. The Clinic Lead will perform various duties related to the provision of care. As a leader, the Clinic Lead will set an exemplary of peer leadership and model consistent front and back-office teamwork.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  1. Supports leadership of Front and Back Office staff
  2. Works collaboratively as a team member of the clinic staff to provide high quality care and efficient service to patients and staff. Maintains patient confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations
  3. Assists with provider scheduling
  4. Manages prescription refill distribution
  5. Maintains clinical signage and information to patients
  6. Monitors and maintains patient registrations and consent forms
  7. Assists Clinic Manager with training, orientation, and precepting of Patient Care Coordinators, Medical Assistants, and Operators by monitoring ongoing clinical education and training needs, assignments, and monthly duties. competencies.
  8. Coordinates the procuring of office supplies and equipment with the appropriate staff to ensure the availability of adequate supplies to provide patient care services.
  9. Communicates with providers regarding closing and locking chart notes
  10. Attend regular EHR training sessions, participates in all team and staff meetings, related continuing education programs. Distributes new information to Patient Care Coordinators and Operators through group trainings and communications
  11. Assist Clinic Manager with readiness during any/all audits such as County and Managed Care.
  12. Ensuring all medical records are set-up and maintained in accordance with standards
  1. Add and Remove Alerts in patients record as needed
  2. Maintain an organized and clean work environment at all times
  3. Consistent on time arrival and ready to begin work at the start of the day. Does not abuse or take advantage of sick time.
  4. Opens and closes clinic as directed by supervisor
  5. Assists Clinic Manager with special projects and other duties as assigned

SECONDARY DUTIES

  1. Support with ordering supplies for the clinic
  1. On-Call support for Alarm services
  1. Review medication orders and ensuring correct medications are prepared
POSITION REQUIREMENTS

These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this job. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.

To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent must have:

  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • 3 or more yearsโ€™ experience in a medical office, clinic, or other health care facility (preferably FQHC)
  • High school graduate or equivalent, completion of a recognized medical secretarial program preferred.
  • Satisfactory requirements for Certified Medical Assistant, LVN, or Phlebotomist
  • 1-year supervisory experience
  • Working knowledge of standard medical records maintenance policies, practices, and laws
  • Basic knowledge of Clinic policies and procedures
  • Strong clerical/administrative skills including use of personal computer, especially medical word processing and spreadsheets
  • Able to handle multiple-phone line
  • Ability to maintain absolute discretion over highly sensitive patient information.
  • Very effective people skills including oral communication skills and customer service skills
  • Ability to work effectively with people of diverse cultures, ages, and economic backgrounds
