Commercial Underwriter ** Will fill this position at appropriate level based on experience** Do you have experience driving the acquisition of profitable new business by accepting, modifying, or rejecting various Commercial new business risk? Do you have experience reviewing underwriting guidelines and processes to ensure compliance with regulations and desired risk tolerance? Do you have a background in Commercial Insurance industry?

Farm Bureau Financial Services Is looking for a Commercial Underwriter who will be responsible for delivering profitable new business. As a commercial underwriter you will be responsible for effectively accepting, modifying, or rejecting commercial new business risks.

This position will provide excellent customer service to our agents, underwriters, and client/members. Farm Bureau Financial Services is looking for someone who can be very collaborative, analytical, and support commercial business needs. If this sounds like you, please apply today!

What you'll do: ยทDefine, implement, and monitor a client service strategy. ยทPartner with business center directors to support alignment of commercial operations. ยทAchieve business unit goals for client service, growth, loss ratio, and efficient operations within a defined territory.

ยทCollaborate with Farm Bureau agents working with both perspective and current client members. ยทAssist agency staff in selecting and writing profitable commercial business for Farm Bureau Financial Services. ยทManage assigned underwriting tasks to identify business trends, ensure profitability and build relationships, through underwriting new business.

ยทContribute to the profitability of Farm Bureau Financial Services by effectively accepting, modifying, or rejecting various commercial new business risk, and through the understanding of adherence to our reinsurance contracts. ยทAdhere to underwriting guidelines and best practices and maintain an acceptable quality audit score to ensure profitable growth of commercial business unit. What it takes to join our team: ยทCollege degree or equivalent required ยทPrior Commercial Underwriting experience preferred.

ยทStrong organizational, analytical, problem solving, and presentation skills required. ยทComputer/keyboard skills appropriate to this position. ยทKnowledge of all Farm Bureau inquiry systems, automated rating systems, underwriting manuals, valuation software for buildings and vehicles, and industry specific websites to support underwriting activities.

ยทExcellent oral and written communication skills appropriate to this position. ยทA valid driver's license and satisfactory motor vehicle records. ยทAbility to read, write and speak English language.
