About this position: Finance Manager - Security Services Location - Remote

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Financial Responsibilities
  • Support financial performance of the portfolio of contracts providing armed guard and detention services, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Partner with corporate accounting on monthly close, revenue recognition, and contract-level financial reporting.
  • Monitor labor costs, fringe, and indirect allocations, including burn rates against budget, forecast, and proposal cost plans, to ensure contract profitability compliance, and early risk identification.
  • Assist in review of invoices, ensuring accuracy and alignment with contract terms (e.g., time & materials, fixed price, cost-reimbursable).
  • Analyze key financial and operational drivers, including margins, utilization rates, and cost trends, and provide actionable recommendations based on forward-looking impacts on revenue, margin, and risk to inform decision-making.
  • Support audit readiness, incurred cost submissions (ICE), and coordination with compliance, tax, and risk functions.

Operational Responsibilities
  • Partner with program managers and operations leadership to support execution of contracts providing armed guard and detention services, ensuring alignment with scope, staffing, and performance requirements.
  • Monitor staffing levels, labor utilization, and scheduling effectiveness in a labor-intensive service environment.
  • Track and analyze operational KPIs, including billable hours, fill rates, overtime trends, and service delivery performance.
  • Support onboarding of new contracts, including coordination of operational setup, billing structures, and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and federal/state regulations across all programs.

Leadership & Strategy
  • Act as a liaison between finance and operations, translating financial data into actionable insights for program teams.
  • Support process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy, forecasting reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to pricing support, contract analysis, and business development efforts.
  • Assist in developing standardized reporting tools, dashboards, and performance metrics across the Security Services line of business.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across financial and operational reporting by reconciling data from enterprise systems.
  • Provide regular financial and operational updates to the Vice President of Finance and operational leadership.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications
  • Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Level of Experience Requirements: Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in finance, accounting, or operations within a federal government contracting environment
  • Experience with federal contracting requirements, including FAR and service contract compliance
  • Experience supporting labor-based contracts with an understanding of staffing, billing, and cost structures
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and variance analysis
  • Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Deltek Costpoint preferred)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance
  • Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, including finance, HR, and operations
  • Ability to translate financial data into operational insights for non-financial stakeholders

Preferred
