Global Client Manager information

What is a global client manager?

A Global Client Manager is a professional responsible for overseeing and nurturing relationships with a company's key international clients. They act as the main point of contact for these clients, ensuring their needs are met across different countries and business units. Their role typically involves coordinating global service delivery, managing client expectations, and identifying opportunities for growth within the client’s organization. Global Client Managers often collaborate with regional teams to provide consistent service and resolve any cross-border issues efficiently.

How does a global client manager typically coordinate with international teams to meet client needs?

A Global Client Manager often collaborates closely with cross-functional teams across various regions, including sales, operations, and support, to ensure that client expectations are met consistently worldwide. Effective communication and time management are key, as you may need to bridge cultural and time zone differences while aligning resources and strategies. Regular virtual meetings, clear documentation, and relationship-building with both clients and internal stakeholders are integral to success in this role. This environment offers valuable exposure to international business practices and can pave the way for advancement into broader leadership positions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a global client manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Global Client Manager, you need expertise in account management, cross-cultural communication, and a strong understanding of international business practices, usually supported by a degree in business or a related field. Familiarity with CRM systems, project management tools, and possibly certifications like PMP or CSM are highly beneficial. Outstanding negotiation, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills distinguish top performers in this role. These abilities are essential for managing complex, multinational accounts and fostering long-term client partnerships across diverse markets.

Amex GBT is a place where colleagues find inspiration in travel as a force for good and - through their work - can make an impact on our industry. We're here to help our colleagues achieve success and offer an inclusive and collaborative culture where your voice is valued.

As a Global Client Trainer for Egencia, you will be a key enablement expert within our Platform Solutions team, driving client success in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will partner closely with Sales, Account Management, and Implementation teams to understand client challenges, deliver tailored training solutions, and enable rapid adoption of the Egencia platform. This role combines deep product expertise with exceptional client-facing skills, contributing to an environment where people and technology work together to deliver exceptional results.

What You'll Do:

  • Create and deliver standardized, high-quality training programs tailored to customer needs that maximize platform adoption

  • Schedule and conduct consistent public trainings with comprehensive pre- and post-training support and quality assurance coordination

  • Coordinate new client onboarding and training initiatives in partnership with Implementation and Account Management teams

  • Manage demo requests through Salesforce; collaborate with Sales and Account Management to define objectives and technical requirements

  • Serve as technical expert during client presentations, translating complex Egencia features into measurable business value

  • Represent Egencia at industry tradeshows and provide pre-sales technical guidance on API integrations, HR feeds, and system connectivity

  • Develop and maintain extensive working knowledge of the Egencia platform; customize configurations to address customer business and technical needs

  • Proactively learn new product releases and share knowledge on locally specific processes, features, and updates across teams

  • Conduct educational sessions with Global Sales and Account Management teams to build platform knowledge and sales confidence; facilitate training on new product feature configurations

  • Partner with Product, Technology, Implementation, and Account Management teams as SME to identify solutions, gather competitive intelligence, and align training with business objectives

What We're Looking For:

  • 2-5 years in corporate travel, B2B SaaS, or related travel industry environments

  • Proven ability to translate technical concepts into business value for non-technical audiences

  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills with comfort presenting to all levels, including C-suite executives

  • Proficient with Salesforce, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint), Seismic, and Crayon

  • Working knowledge of integration solutions including SFTP and REST/SOAP APIs with sharp technical learning aptitude

  • Excellent listening, questioning, and consultative abilities; comfortable demonstrating technology solutions remotely and in-person

  • Ability to effectively influence and guide clients, agents, vendors, and partners while communicating technical information accessibly

  • Familiarity with sales methodologies such as Sandler, Spanco, or Customer Centric Selling

  • Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple priorities, develop own schedule, and thrive in fast-paced environments

  • Ability to work flexible hours to provide training and support across global time zones
