Job description

WHO are we looking for?

CAPTRUST seeks a dynamic Wealth Relationship Manager Specialist who will lead and support existing and new client relationships to provide world-class service.


Client Facing Responsibilities

  • Prepare and propose items of discussion, financial planning issues, and recommendations for client review meetings
  • Attend or lead client meetings with/without Senior Advisor as appropriate
  • Manage client meeting follow-up items and action items with clients and Senior Advisor if necessary
  • Maintain frequent communications with clients between meetings
  • Assume relationship management responsibilities for existing clients
  • Assist with calendaring of planning exercises and appropriate follow-ups for new clients and existing

Financial Planning

  • Effectively use eMoney platform and/or other software tools to create and update financial projections
  • Collaborate with advisor team to develop appropriate financial recommendations for clients
  • Develop and maintain an area of planning expertise – for example: Estate Planning, Insurance, Social Security, etc.

Investment Management

  • Effectively communicate our investment strategy and recommendations to clients
  • Work with Senior Advisor to develop suitable portfolio recommendations for individual clients
  • Present with and without Senior Advisor, portfolio recommendations to clients
  • Support advisor team with rebalancing/realignment of portfolios as needed

Professional Development

  • Pursue additional qualifications which will continue to build upon the team’s collective expertise.
  • Attend industry conferences related to financial planning and/or investment management to hone skills and stay current with financial education and industry trends.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • CFP® designation or successful completion of the CFP exam

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Passionate interest in working as part of a team to serve clients’ full range of financial planning needs
  • ” Team Player” mindset and willingness to do whatever is needed, big or small
  • Enjoys direct and personal interactions with clients
  • Interest in longer term firm career advancement opportunity as a Senior Wealth Advisor

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Familiarity with Financial Planning Software (eMoney preferred)
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Effective time management skills; ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment while prioritizing independent tasks and meeting aggressive deadlines
  • Ability to effectively report to several professionals on a large variety of tasks and manage priorities amid an often-heavy volume of work
