POSITION SUMMARY                                                                                                                                    

This position is the primary point of contact for clients providing exceptional service and support.  Support customer relationships to retain client business.  Contribute to office growth.  Identifying client’s insurance needs as they arise.  Develop a good understanding of the products OIG offers.  Process insurance documentation to ensure all documents are complete and accurate.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES                                                                                                                    

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  

  • Primary point of contact for clients providing exceptional service and support. Make insurance changes as requested by customer or agent. Process payments for customers.
  • Answering the phones, screening and forwarding incoming phone calls or redirect as appropriate.
  • Receiving and sorting the daily mail.
  • Calculating agent commissions monthly.
  • Be able to communicate in-depth knowledge of the products our companies offer; knowing what products a customer may be interested in or value.   Identify cross-selling opportunities when talking to customers and be able to quote insurance products.
  • Overseeing agency compliance and ensuring all employees are following our compliance guidelines.
  • Monitoring client renewals monthly and work with Producer to maintain client retention
  • Perform other administrative duties such as electronic filing, photocopying, preparing insurance documents. File and maintain customer insurance files.  The information is personal and confidential. 
  • Process and review insurance documentation to ensure all documents are complete and accurate.
  • Communicate with our contracted insurance companies to investigate and effectively solve everyday issues.
  • Work as a liaison between team members to ensure the proper flow of requests and documents.
  • Gain in-depth and thorough understanding of Property and Casualty insurance.
  • Be able to work with confidential information. 
  • Professionally assist the team with preparation and finalization of documents.
  • Serve as a back-up for other jobs as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES                                                                                                                                    

To perform this job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • Excellent client relationship skills, friendly attitude, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented.  Must be organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality.
  • Basic working knowledge of insurance.
  • Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities as to use time efficiently. 
  • Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction.
  • Ability to obtain Property and Casualty Insurance License.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE                                                                                                                     

  • Associate’s degree; 3-4 years’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer knowledge and ability to navigate company websites.
  • Familiarity with client data management systems.
  • Ability to obtain Property and Casualty Insurance License.
