Job description

Recruiting Operations Manager

Lead Driver Recruitment. Optimize Performance. Drive Growth.

Location: Elkhart, IN (Onsite)

Our client, a growing transportation and logistics company, is seeking a Recruiting Operations Manager to lead and optimize its nationwide driver recruitment operation.

This is NOT a traditional recruiting management role.

While you'll lead a team of recruiters responsible for recruiting independent contractor (1099) drivers, your primary focus will be improving recruiting performance through leadership, process improvement, analytics, technology, and recruiting marketing.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys building teams, improving systems, leveraging technology, and using data to drive measurable business results.

If you're a builder, not a maintainer, we want to talk to you.

What You'll Do

Leadership & Recruiting Operations

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of driver recruiters.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, KPIs, accountability, and coaching strategies.
  • Build a culture focused on urgency, ownership, continuous improvement, and results.
  • Improve recruiting workflows, eliminate bottlenecks, and streamline the driver recruiting process.
  • Monitor recruiting pipeline health from application through onboarding.
  • Partner with Operations and Executive Leadership to ensure recruiting supports company growth objectives.

Driver Recruitment Marketing & Performance

Partner closely with Marketing to continuously improve the company's driver acquisition strategy.

Responsibilities include:

  • Optimize recruiting campaigns across Indeed, Google, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), and other digital recruiting platforms.
  • Analyze recruiting advertising performance including:
  • Cost Per Click (CPC)
  • Cost Per Lead (CPL)
  • Cost Per Hire (CPH)
  • Applicant conversion rates
  • Recruiting ROI
  • Identify opportunities to improve lead quality through campaign optimization, testing, and analytics.
  • Recommend improvements to advertising spend, campaign effectiveness, and recruiting funnel performance.
  • Help build a scalable driver acquisition strategy capable of supporting future company growth.

Technology & Process Improvement

  • Leverage ATS platforms, automation tools, AI, dashboards, and recruiting technology to improve recruiter productivity.
  • Develop reporting that provides visibility into recruiting performance and business trends.
  • Continuously improve recruiting systems, workflows, and operational efficiency.
  • Introduce new ideas, technology, and best practices that help the recruiting organization scale.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who thinks like an operations leader—not simply a recruiter.

The ideal candidate enjoys:

  • Leading people
  • Improving systems
  • Solving business problems
  • Using data to make decisions
  • Building accountability
  • Driving continuous improvement

Preferred Backgrounds

We welcome candidates from a variety of performance-driven leadership environments including:

  • Recruiting Operations
  • Driver Recruiting
  • Transportation & Logistics
  • Staffing Leadership
  • Sales Operations
  • Customer Acquisition
  • Call Center Leadership
  • Business Operations
  • High-volume recruiting environments

Qualifications

  • Experience leading and developing teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience managing KPIs and performance metrics
  • Process improvement mindset
  • Experience with ATS or CRM platforms
  • Comfortable utilizing technology, automation, dashboards, and AI
  • Excellent coaching and communication skills
  • High energy with a strong sense of urgency

Bonus Points

  • Transportation or logistics experience
  • Driver recruiting experience
  • Independent contractor (1099) recruiting
  • Digital recruiting advertising
  • Performance marketing analytics
  • Experience optimizing recruiting campaigns across Indeed, Google, Meta, or similar platforms

Why This Opportunity?

This role offers the opportunity to build and improve an already successful recruiting organization while making a measurable impact on company growth.

If you enjoy leading teams, improving recruiting performance, leveraging technology, and partnering with marketing to build better recruiting outcomes, we'd love to hear from you.
