Job description

Overview

Our client, a long-standing industrial manufacturing and distribution business, is looking for a hands-on Facilities and Operations Lead to oversee daily activity across warehouse, repair, and facilities functions. This role reports directly to senior leadership and will guide a small team of managers and staff while keeping the broader operation running smoothly. The successful candidate will serve as a practical, big-picture leader who understands how the business functions day to day and can help strengthen processes as the company continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary contact for facilities management and vendor coordination, while maintaining OSHA and company safety compliance, including regular safety meetings.
  • Manage daily operations across multiple warehouse sites, including inbound and outbound product flow, dispatch, repair scheduling, and work-order prioritization.
  • Monitor and support managers, warehouse staff, and repair technicians, tracking operational progress and performance measures such as completion times and labor utilization.
  • Take ownership of inventory control and purchasing, ensuring accuracy, product availability, and consistent process discipline.
  • Work with the executive team to identify operational challenges and improvement opportunities, supporting planning, reporting, and alignment across departments.
  • Oversee the on-site repair function, including hydraulic and electrical control-system repair, ensuring timelines, quality, and team performance are managed effectively without necessarily performing the repair work directly.

Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated flexibility in managing changing daily priorities, with a proven ability to collaborate across departments and solve problems effectively.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Working knowledge of industrial repair processes, including hydraulic and/or electrical control systems, as well as shop workflows sufficient to manage the function.
  • At least 5 years of experience in operations, supervision, or general management within an industrial, manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, repair, or fabrication environment, including coordination across multiple operational functions or sites.
  • Experience using scheduling or work-order systems, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook and Excel, and an inventory or ERP platform.
  • Strong leadership skills in hands-on work settings, with an approachable, accountable, and open communication style.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience using the ACCTIVATE ERP system, or a similar inventory ERP platform.
  • Operations experience in the mining or heavy-equipment industry.
  • Proven success improving shop efficiency and operational processes.
  • A background as a mechanic or in equipment repair, paired with management experience.
  • Master's degree in business management or a related equivalent field.
  • Practical ability to assist directly with hydraulic, electrical, or facilities maintenance tasks, considered a plus but not required.
  • At least 7 years of operations management experience.

Base salary: $75,000 to $95,000 per year.
