Position Title: Intake Specialist (IS)
Type: Full-Time
Position Overview
Diversified Services, Inc. (DSN) is seeking a dependable, customer-focused Intake Specialist (IS). In this role, you will serve as front-desk support for clients applying for or receiving public assistance programs, while also providing administrative assistance to case workers and office staff.
This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping others, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and are looking for a long-term opportunity with growth potential.
About the Role
As an IS, you will interact directly with members of the public, staff, and other state personnel. You will be responsible for determining eligibility for public assistance programs, including:
• Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Cash Assistance
• Nutrition Assistance Program (NA)
• Medicaid (Medical Assistance)
IS staff serve as the first point of contact for clients and play a critical role in ensuring applications and documentation are processed accurately and efficiently. IS Staff will assist individuals by data entering application information. You will attend paid classroom training (one week) along with on-the-job training. This is an in-person on site position.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Front Desk Support
• Welcome on-site visitors and determine the nature of their visit
• Provide courteous, professional customer service to all clients
• Assist clients with application submission and general inquiries
Administrative & Case Support
• Review client information and documentation for accuracy and completeness
• Scan and upload documents into client case files
• Schedule client appointments and support caseworker workflows
• Work independently and be able to work collaboratively with Team members
• Ability to communicate accurately both orally and in writing
Operational Duties
• Accurately data enter program applications
• Research systems to ensure application is not a duplicate
• Prepare eligibility and upload appropriate documents into Document Management System
• Validate all documents are scanned to correct eligibility type
• Place application in appropriate system to ensure client contact by eligibility staff
• Maintain daily activity and service reports
• Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
Physical Requirements
• Frequent sitting and use of hands for handling objects
• Standing, walking, and reaching
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally
Requirements
• Proficient computer skills include typing, accurate data entry, and navigation of multiple software applications
• Strong desire to help and serve others

• Reliable, dependable, and punctual
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and pass a background check
• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience as a Customer Service Representative, Cashier, Clerk, Administrative Assistant, Receptionist, or Front Office staff
• Experience working with the public in a government or social services environment
Benefits
