Job description

About Terac

Terac is building the infrastructure for accessing human capability on demand. We are working toward a future where Terac deeply understands:

  1. What every person is capable of, what they want, and where they can thrive

  2. What work our customers need completed and what success requires

  3. What creates a great match between the two

With this understanding, Terac can intelligently allocate human capability to the work where it creates the most value for both our experts and customers. Today, our initial wedge is providing specialized experts for AI training, evaluation, market research, and other expert-driven research.

This future was not previously possible. Understanding people and work at this depth required more information and judgment than any organization could reasonably process. As a result, the labor market came to rely on crude proxies: résumés, credentials, applications, interviews, and personal networks. At Terac, we're changing this by making it possible to synthesize thousands of signals about a person’s knowledge, performance, preferences, and potential while developing an equally detailed understanding of the work itself.

We place 1,000s of experts per month, pay our experts, on average, over $90/hr. We're a team of 15 based in San Francisco, and we work with many leading research companies.

About the role

As an Engagement Manager, you will own key customer relationships across application-layer companies, research labs, and enterprise clients, serving as the primary point of contact from evaluation through delivery. You’ll partner closely with technical and business stakeholders to guide training and deployment, resolve issues, and ensure a high-quality customer experience.

You’ll work cross-functionally with product, operations, and engineering to manage timelines, support execution, and surface insights that drive account growth. This role also plays a key part in expanding revenue where you will lead commercial processes for new and existing customers and helping leadership identify and unblock growth opportunities in a fast-moving AI environment.

You will:
  • Own a robust independent client book with full revenue ownership, identifying upselling and cross selling opportunities in existing relationships

  • Bring in new customers, labs, and enterprises to Terac

  • Work closely with customer C-levels on strategic cross-agency initiatives

  • Forecast revenue growth and help leadership understand how to unblock additional growth opportunities

  • Act as the quarterback of the agency account by leveraging cross-functional relationships with Terac teams to bring the best of Terac to our clients

  • Provide unique value to our agency partners through trainings, co-hosted events, eng support, and whatever else they need to succeed

You have:
  • Experience in a technical partnership or sales role

  • A proven track record in enterprise client facing roles and expanding customer relationships

  • Excellent verbal and written communications

  • Experience at a fast-growth tech startup or top-tier consulting/finance firm

  • Great cross-functional experience and collaborative ability

Misc Details
  • Compensation: Competitive salary, meaningful equity vested over four years, $10K relocation bonus (for moving to the Bay Area), and an additional $5k housing bonus (if you move within 0.5 miles of our office), Health, Dental, Vision insurance, 401(k) with company match

  • Growth opportunities: You're joining Terac at one of the earliest stages and will have an opportunity to shape and grow with the company as a founding member.

  • We operate in-person six days per week in our downtown SF office
