International Recovery Systems is seeking a high-performing Strategic Client & Business Development Manager to lead both existing client relationship management and new business development efforts across our repossession, recovery, transportation, and related service offerings. This role is responsible for strengthening and expanding relationships with existing clients while identifying, cultivating, and securing new business opportunities within the automotive finance, lending, fleet, and related markets.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable acting as a trusted advisor to existing clients and as a growth-focused business developer who can identify opportunities, open doors, and convert prospects into long-term strategic partnerships.This individual will analyze client performance metrics, monitor market trends, conduct regular business reviews, support onboarding and compliance initiatives, and represent IRS in business development efforts including networking, conferences, industry events, and direct outreach.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management / Account Growth

  • Serve as primary relationship manager for assigned client accounts
  • Maintain and strengthen executive and operational relationships with existing clients
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual business review meetings with clients
  • Analyze client performance metrics, including:
    • Recovery percentages
    • Assignment volume trends
    • Revenue performance
    • Vendor scorecard performance
    • Compliance metrics
    • Geographic performance trends
    • Service delivery KPIs
  • Identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities within client portfolios
  • Develop action plans to improve client performance and retention
  • Proactively address client concerns, escalations, and service issues
  • Collaborate with operations leadership to ensure client expectations are achieved
  • Identify opportunities to expand current client relationships into additional services, regions, or business units
  • Manage contract renewals and strategic account retention initiatives

Business Development / Revenue Growth

  • Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities within target markets
  • Build relationships with prospective lenders, finance companies, fleet organizations, forwarders, and strategic partners
  • Develop and execute targeted outreach campaigns
  • Represent IRS at industry conferences, trade shows, networking events, and association meetings
  • Coordinate sales presentations, proposals, and capability reviews
  • Manage prospect pipeline from initial outreach through onboarding
  • Assist in RFP responses, vendor applications, and onboarding documentation
  • Monitor market activity, competitor movement, and industry trends
  • Identify expansion opportunities in new markets, service lines, and verticals
  • Develop strategic partnerships that enhance IRS growth initiatives

Client Onboarding & Compliance Oversight

  • Coordinate onboarding of all new client relationships
  • Ensure successful implementation and integration of new accounts
  • Monitor ongoing compliance requirements for existing and prospective clients
  • Maintain awareness of client-specific contractual obligations, vendor requirements, insurance standards, and compliance expectations
  • Partner with operations and compliance teams to address deficiencies proactively
  • Support audit preparation and documentation where required

Reporting & Analytics

  • Prepare and present internal executive reporting on:
    • Client health
    • Revenue performance
    • Growth opportunities
    • Pipeline status
    • Market activity
    • Retention risk
  • Maintain CRM / pipeline documentation and account activity reporting
  • Use performance data to support strategic decision-making

Requirements

Required

  • 5+ years experience in:
    • Account management
    • Client relationship management
    • Business development
    • Sales
    • Automotive finance / recovery / repossession / transportation industries preferred
  • Strong understanding of client performance analytics and KPI reporting
  • Experience managing executive-level business relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to develop new business opportunities
