Job description

General Manager
Home Care Operations & Growth
Klipsch Senior Care • Home Instead • Kokomo, IN
Full-time • Some evenings & weekends required
This is not a job for someone who wants to keep a seat warm.
We've stabilized our Kokomo office and started growing again. Now it needs a leader's dedicated focus to see the growth we're after-someone ready to roll up their sleeves and build real momentum. Someone who looks at an office with a solid foundation and a lot of untapped potential and thinks, "I can grow this." Someone with a real passion for getting out into the community and building relationships, the drive to push growth forward, and the grit and staying power to do the hands-on work it takes, day after day.
If you've led teams, carried real accountability, and have the track record to prove it-keep reading.
What this role is really about
As General Manager of our Kokomo office, you're stepping in at a pivotal moment. The office is stable and growing again, and it needs a dedicated, hands-on leader to give it the focus it takes to reach its full potential and earn back its full place in the community. The success of that rests with you. Growth, operations, financial performance, team culture, community reputation-you own all of it. The wins are shared across your team, but the weight sits with you. That's the deal, and for the right leader, it's exactly the appeal.
Your biggest job is people. You'll lead and grow your key players-the team who runs scheduling, recruitment, client services, and business development-and turn them into a high-performing unit that delivers for our clients and Care Professionals every day. But this isn't a desk job. You'll spend more of your week out in the community than in the office, personally building the referral relationships-with hospitals, physicians, social workers, senior living, and hospice-that fuel our growth. Here, business development isn't something you just oversee. It's something you do.
And there's a number that matters: a 12.5% year-over-year increase in hours of care. You'll own that goal-but the way you hit it isn't through pressure or shortcuts. It's through strong operations, a team that performs, and a community that trusts us again. Behind every percentage point is a senior living better at home. That's the work. It's demanding, it's relentless at times, and it genuinely matters.
What you'll own
Lead and grow your key players
  • Oversee all office functions-scheduling, Care Professional recruitment and engagement, client services, and business development
  • Interview, hire, train, coach, and develop your administrative team-your key players-into people who grow with the business
  • Conduct performance appraisals and have the honest conversations that make a team better

Drive growth and business development
  • Own business development for the office-personally researching, meeting, and building relationships with referral sources like hospitals, physicians, social workers, senior living, and hospice, and turning them into referrals and hours of care
  • Carry a real sales focus, not just an oversight one: get out and make the calls, deliver the presentations, and drive the pipeline toward our 12.5% hours-of-care growth goal
  • Set the standard by doing the work yourself, and lead and coach any business development staff on your team to do the same

Run the business
  • Execute the annual operational plan and budget set by senior leadership-and bring your field insight and ideas to help shape it
  • Deliver on the plan's revenue, gross profit, and profitability goals-you're accountable for hitting the numbers
  • Manage departmental outcomes and direct changes when something isn't working

Hold the standard
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes
  • Communicate and model those standards for every employee
  • Embody our core values-empathy, integrity, persistence, and community focus-in how you lead

What we're looking for
This role calls for a proven leader. Not someone learning to lead-someone who has done it, owned the outcomes, and has the track record to show for it. Specifically:
  • You love building relationships. You genuinely enjoy getting out into the community, meeting people, and earning trust-that energy is a big part of what rebuilds an office.
  • You have a proven track record. You've led teams, carried real accountability for results, and can point to what you built or turned around. Three to five years of related business or leadership experience is the foundation we're looking for.
  • You're a servant leader. You lead from the front, roll up your sleeves, and put your team's success ahead of your own ego. People want to work for you.
  • You have the drive to grow. You're sales-minded and goal-oriented-happy to personally make the calls, deliver the presentations, and chase the growth, not just manage it. You'd rather be out meeting people than parked behind a desk.
  • You're resilient. Building growth is grind-it-out work, and when it gets hard you keep pushing, find what actually moves the needle, and stay steady.
  • You roll up your sleeves. This is hands-on work at a stage that takes real effort. You're not above any of it, and you do what it takes to move things forward.
  • You take ownership. You don't wait to be told, you don't pass the buck, and you treat the business like it's yours.
  • You lead with integrity. Discretion, fairness, and honesty aren't negotiable-they're how you operate.

A word about experience
A college degree is welcome, and prior experience in senior care or healthcare will help you ramp faster. But neither one is what we're screening for. What matters most is a demonstrated track record of leading people, driving growth, and delivering results-wherever you've done it. If you've grown something through focus and persistence, or turned a corner and built momentum before, tell us-that's exactly the experience this role rewards.
Tech you'll use
You'll work in CRM systems (Salesforce or similar), client care and scheduling software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams, plus Home Instead's internal systems. You should be comfortable operating in these tools and leading a team that relies on them.
A valid driver's license and the ability to travel within the Kokomo area are required-you'll be out in the community most days. This role also includes some evenings and weekends; running a franchise means being available when the business needs you.
What we offer
  • Real ownership-this is your office to lead, grow, and build real momentum in
  • A mission that matters-every result you drive means more seniors living with dignity at home
  • A values-driven organization that backs its leaders and promotes performance
  • The chance to build genuine momentum in an office that's stable and ready to grow, and to see the direct impact of your leadership on a team and a community

A note from our leadership
"Running a franchise means the wins are shared but the weight is yours to carry. I'm looking for someone who sees an office that's stable and ready to grow, and is willing to roll up their sleeves to build the momentum. If you've led, you've grown people, and you're ready to do the hands-on work it takes, I want to meet you."
How to apply
Submit your resume online-and tell us about something you led. A team you grew, a number you turned around, a hard situation you carried your people through. We want to see your track record, not just your title history.
  • Background requirements: Criminal background check, MVR check & drug screen
  • Schedule: Full-time, with some evenings & weekends as the business requires
  • Travel: Valid driver's license required; Kokomo area
