The Opportunity

Black & Veatch is seeking a results-driven Sales / Business Development Leader to expand our presence in the data center market, with a focus on hyperscale and large-scale campus developments.


In this role, you will lead new business growth, strategic account management, and business capture efforts across key clients in the data center segment. You'll work across multiple business lines to deliver integrated solutions spanning distributed infrastructure, data center planning and design, power and industrial water infrastructure, and EPC delivery.


This is a quota-carrying role with direct accountability for revenue growth, client relationships, and strategic market expansion.

*While we have a preference for candidates located near our World Headquarters we welcome applicants from any of our office locations across the U.S.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive new business development and sales across hyperscale, colocation, and developer clients
  • Own and deliver an annual sales target of $50M-$150M+, with strong pipeline development (3-5x coverage)
  • Develop and execute account strategies, capture plans, and go-to-market approaches
  • Build and maintain relationships with executive-level stakeholders across real estate, power, and infrastructure teams
  • Lead complex pursuits, including positioning, teaming, and proposal strategy
  • Collaborate across Black & Veatch to deliver integrated, enterprise solutions
  • Maintain strong client engagement through project execution to drive repeat business

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
  • Relevant experience in business development, sales, or key account management
  • Proven success in data center / mission critical or infrastructure sales
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed multi-million-dollar sales quotas
  • Strong understanding of data center campus planning, including: 
    • Site selection and land development
    • Campus master planning and phased buildouts
    • Power delivery (substations, transmission, utility coordination, and generation)
    • Scalability, speed-to-market, and resilience considerations
  • Experience working with hyperscale clients or major data center developer/operators
  • Strong commercial acumen (contracts, pricing, risk)
  • Excellent communication, executive presence, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
Minimum Qualifications
  • Typically 10-15 years of experience within the EPC industry, including 5-10 years in sales or project execution. Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience developing, maintaining and executing strategic sales plans.
  • History of successful pursuits with complex buying processes and mulitple decision makers
  • Firm understanding of competition and differentiators.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts concisely and clearly, and to convert technical or complex information and concepts into easily understandable content.
  • Experience using Salesforce is preferred.
  • B2B sales experience.
