Description:

Purpose: The Estimator is responsible for the entire estimating operations process and will mitigate financial liability for The Cleary Company. They will serve as the liaison between the Development and Production teams and are responsible for creating the budgets on all jobs assigned.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Assist in gathering new job information and work with the Development team to determine client needs and possibilities.
  • Review initial job photos and notes, identify obstacles early on at site visits, and visit job sites as needed.
  • Set up initial estimate ranges based on preliminary designs for initial presentations.
  • Update pricing tables and evaluate past projects to create a database of usable cost data.
  • Solicit multiple quotes from Trade Partners and Vendors and verify pricing on bids.
  • Produce estimates for Design Agreements and Contracts and present them to the Development Teams for approval.
  • Keep current with new products, TPs, and Vendors.
  • Attend meetings with Development and Production teams to assist in creating the scope of work and provide detailed field notes and job costing.
  • Assist with all job documentation and input for bringing on Trade Partners & Vendors.
  • Maintain and cultivate relationships with TP, Vendors, and other Industry Professionals.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field a plus, but not required.
  • 2-5 Years’ Experience with Budgeting (Job Costing a plus but not required).
  • 2-5 Years' Experience in Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc).
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction processes, materials, and cost estimation techniques.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
