Job description

Job Title: Network Engineer
Location: Linthicum, MD
Required Clearance: TS/SCI w/ CI Poly
Salary: Negotiable
Overview:
We are seeking a Network Engineer to support a DoD Cyber Security project, with a focus on integrating networking and cryptographic systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience setting up network equipment, a deep understanding of network environments, and the ability to translate that knowledge into configuring and securing cryptographic equipment for classified operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls) in secure DoD environments.
  • Translate networking principles into crypto equipment configurations for secure communications.
  • Ensure network and cryptographic compliance with DoD security standards (STIGs, RMF, NIST 800-53).
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network performance while maintaining security and availability.
  • Support VPNs, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and secure enclave architectures.
  • Work with cybersecurity teams to harden network infrastructure and protect against cyber threats.
  • Document network configurations, security controls, and compliance artifacts.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering, with direct experience setting up and maintaining network equipment.
  • Experience working with cryptographic devices, encryption protocols, and secure communications.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, Cisco/Juniper networking, and security protocols.
  • Familiarity with DISA STIGs, RMF, eMASS, and ACAS.
  • Certifications preferred: CCNP, Security+, CISSP, or CEH.
