Corporate Business Analyst – JOHNSON AUTOMOTIVE Dealership Operations

The Corporate Business Analyst supports financial analysis, compliance administration, risk management, contract administration, and special projects across a multi-rooftop, multi-state automotive dealership organization. This role works closely with operational leaders, accounting, legal counsel, lenders, manufacturers, and vendors to support business initiatives, identify risks, improve processes, and ensure organizational compliance.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, comfortable handling confidential information, and capable of working across multiple business functions. This is a cross-functional role with exposure to finance, compliance, risk management, operational reviews, and strategic business initiatives. Responsibilities may evolve over time based on organizational priorities and business needs.

WORK ARRANGEMENT

  • Work Authorization: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship, now or in the future.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Analysis

  • Review dealership financial statements, schedules, operating reports, and performance data.
  • Analyze revenue, gross profit, expenses, cash flow, floorplan activity, receivables, inventory, and departmental performance.
  • Prepare financial summaries, variance analyses, trend reports, and management dashboards.
  • Identify unusual activity, missing documentation, control gaps, or financial inconsistencies.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, monthly close review, and performance reporting.
  • Assist with dealership benchmarking and operational financial analysis.

Risk and Compliance Support

  • Insurance claims management, including gathering supporting documentation, tracking claim status and deadlines, coordinating with insurers, brokers, internal stakeholders, and dealership personnel, and maintaining organized records related to property, casualty, liability, vehicle, employee, or customer-related claims.
  • Support review of financial, operational, vendor, lender, and dealership compliance risks.
  • Administer and oversee the organization's licensing, insurance, and regulatory compliance programs, identifying deficiencies and recommending corrective action.
  • Lead the preparation and organization of documentation supporting audits, lender reviews, manufacturer requests, and compliance examinations.
  • Monitor deadlines, renewal dates, contract obligations, and required follow-up items.
  • Escalate potential compliance, documentation, legal, or financial concerns to management.

Legal and Contract Support

  • Organize, review, and track legal documents, contracts, correspondence, agreements, leases, vendor documents, insurance documents, and corporate records.
  • Assist with document preparation, fact gathering, legal research support, and matter management.
  • Administer legal matter documentation and records management systems while ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely follow-up.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel, internal stakeholders, lenders, vendors, landlords and dealership personnel.
  • Contract intake, renewal tracking, signature routing, and document retention.
  • Assist with litigation, claims, subpoenas, regulatory inquiries, or dispute documentation as directed.

Automotive Dealership Operations

  • Review dealership-specific documents and reports, such as financial statements, inventory schedules, floorplan reports, receivables aging, deal jackets, F&I documentation, warranty schedules, manufacturer statements, and vendor agreements.
  • Support risk review related to sales, service, parts, F&I, accounting, inventory, floorplan, and title/documentation processes.
  • Assist with dealership acquisitions, dispositions, audits, manufacturer communications, and operational reviews.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, legal studies, risk management, or a related field; equivalent dealership finance/accounting experience may be considered.
  • Experience in two or more of the following areas: financial analysis, dealership accounting, compliance, audit support, contract administration, legal support, insurance claims administration, or automotive retail operations.
  • Working knowledge of automotive dealership operations, preferably including sales, service, parts, F&I, accounting, inventory, floorplan, or manufacturer reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review financial statements, schedules, contracts, and supporting documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and business reporting tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential financial, legal, personnel, and business information.
  • Ability to manage deadlines, competing priorities, and cross-functional follow-up.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of automotive dealership finance, accounting, audit, legal, compliance, or risk experience.
  • Experience working with dealership financial statements, DMS reports, floorplan documentation, deal files, F&I documents, or manufacturer statements.
  • Experience with dealership management systems such as CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, Tekion, or similar systems.
  • Experience supporting audits, lender reviews, acquisitions, legal matters, contract management, or compliance reviews.
  • Paralegal certificate, compliance training, accounting coursework, CPA-track background, or finance/risk certification is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, variance analysis, and financial modeling.
  • Experience preparing executive summaries, board materials, lender packages, or legal-document summaries.
