PositionSummary
TSIB isseeking an experienced Claims Manager to support complex construction-relatedclaims for Turner Construction, the largest commercial contractor in the UnitedStates, and other key clients across the Eastern Region.
This is afront-line, hands-on role responsible for managing a diverse portfolio ofconstruction general liability, construction defect, builders' risk, andproperty damage claims, with a strong emphasis on NY labor law, litigationmanagement, claim strategy, and stakeholder partnership. The role requiressound technical judgment, the ability to influence outcomes across carriers andcounsel, and the credibility to serve as a trusted subject-matter expert toproject leadership and Safety teams.
The ClaimsManager works closely with the Director of Risk Strategy and serves as astrategic claims partner to Turner Risk Management, project teams, Safety, andinsurer partners.
KeyResponsibilities
Claims& Litigation Management

Manage a portfolio of complex construction-related claims, including:
Construction general liability and bodily injury, including NY Labor Law 240/241(6)
Construction defect
Builders' risk and property damage
Multi-jurisdictional and layered insurance programs (OCIP/CCIP)
Direct and oversee litigation strategy from inception through resolution, including early case assessment, defense counsel selection, discovery coordination, expert strategy, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation.
Evaluate liability, damages, coverage, and contractual risk transfer to develop defensible, outcome-driven resolution strategies.
Oversee high-severity and catastrophic claims through litigation, mediation, arbitration, or settlement.
Carrier,Counsel & Client Coordination
Serve as a primary claims liaison between Turner Construction, Owner developers,  insurers, TPAs, defense counsel, and brokers.
Advocate with carriers on reserving, coverage positions, settlement authority, and litigation posture.
Partner with the Regional Director of Claims on defense and coverage counsel selection, performance oversight, and escalation strategy.
Participate in mediations, trials, and high-level claim strategy discussions as needed.
Project,Safety & Field Partnership
Act as a claims subject-matter expert to Turner project teams, project leadership, and Safety professionals.
Support incident response, investigation strategy, and evidence preservation in coordination with field teams.
Provide practical, litigation-informed guidance to help reduce exposure and improve claim defensibility on active projects.
Participate in project, Safety, and operations meetings as a claims and litigation resource.
Strategic& Analytical Responsibilities
Analyze claim trends, reserve adequacy, and loss drivers across the Eastern Region portfolio.
Prepare and present claim summaries, litigation assessments, and loss analyses to TSIB and client leadership.
Identify opportunities for early resolution, cost containment, and continuous improvement.
TeamCollaboration & Leadership
Serve as a technical resource and mentor to Claims Analysts and Claims Coordinators.
Collaborate across TSIB Claims, Risk, Safety, Legal, and Operations teams.
Contribute to the development and refinement of TSIB's claims and litigation management best practices.

NY Salary Range: 114,000-145,000 (depending on experience)
