Job description

TITLE: Plant Associate HR Generalist

LOCATION: Onsite in Oswego, IL 5 days/week

COMPRANGE: $55,000-$76,000 / year

Custom Culinary, a subsidiary of Griffith Foods, is hiring a Plant Associate HR Generalist to support our Oswego, IL manufacturing location, a site with approximately 60 employees. In this role, you will be a trusted member of the Oswego Leadership Team, partnering with the Plant Manager, Operations Manager, and Supervisors to drive HR programs, align operational goals, and build an inclusive culture for hourly production associates..

This is an opportunity to make a visible impact by connecting HR with day-to-day operations and partner directly with plant leaders to align operational goals, and build an inclusive culture for hourly production associates, leading to an engaged workforce that contributes directly to the organization's production and growth objectives. You'll have the opportunity to be the trusted first point of contact for HR needs across the site, own important HR processes, and make a real impact on a thriving, multi-shift workforce

As a Plant Associate HR Generalist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Investigating and resolving plant team member relations issues, including supporting and coaching Plant Management in working through team member relations issues, making appropriate recommendations, and guiding management on fair, appropriate, and compliant resolutions.

  • Assisting with legal compliance by routinely auditing employment law postings for accuracy and adherence to established guidelines and applicable federal and state laws.

  • Supporting performance management by helping managers to both set business-aligned and measurable goals and to provide ongoing performance feedback in a compliant, fair way and within timelines.

  • Completing day-to-day administration of Human Resource programs including completing necessary documents to enroll, terminate and change team member statuses.

  • Maintaining required documentation, including personnel files, discipline records, electronic documentation, in support of Company Policies, Affirmative Action, Attendance, and Performance Management.

  • Process and coordinate with team members and supervisors on FMLA/Short Term Disability claims, Workers Compensations claims and leaves of absence, as well as fulfilling OSHA requirement for the facility.

  • Conducting new hire onboarding, both virtually and in person, and processing all documents (E-Verify, I-9 processing, etc.) for new team members for Oswego, IL ensuring accurate team member data is entered into the HCM (Human Capital Management) system, Workday.

The Plant Associate HR Generalist position is well suited for you if you:

Qualified candidates will have:

  • An Associate's degree in HR, Business, or a related field.

  • At least 3 years of progressive experience in HR administration, including at least 1 year of manufacturing plant HR experience and exposure.

  • Current location within a commutable to Oswego, Illinois. Relocation support is not available.

  • Willingness and ability to be onsite 5 days a week in Oswego, Illinois.

  • Candidates must currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States; work visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or a related field

  • Experience with the Workday HCM system

  • Experience in the food / CPG industry

  • Bilingual in Spanish

This role is affiliated with the Oswego, IL location. Candidates for this role need to reside within a commutable distance of that location and will be required to come into that location 5 days per week. You may be asked to travel to other locations periodically for meetings, including the Lombard, IL and Avon, OH facilities.

This is a salaried, non-exempt role and is eligible for overtime. This role is not bonus eligible.
