StepStone Hospitality is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to lead the People & Culture operations at the DoubleTree by Hilton Augusta Hotel. This role is responsible for any planning regarding the human resources and development of a company's workforce, and they must be able to transform all policies into executable plans and departmental procedures. Some of their daily responsibilities include:

  • Recruit, interview, reference, and hire candidates for open positions
  • Interpret and enforce company policies and employment laws.  Support management in enforcing policies and laws, including appropriate discipline.
  • Oversee disciplinary actions that may result in suspension or termination.
  • Ensure associates receive appropriate performance reviews and wage increases.
  • Plan and coordinate general meetings, associate gathering, holiday parties, and incentive programs.
  • Ensure safety committee is conducting periodic safety meetings and inspection.
  • Maintain hotel associate personnel files.
  • Resolve personnel issues.
  • Respond to all unemployment claims, work injuries, state disability claims, and wage garnishments.
  • Maintain insurance benefits for eligible associates.
  • Be readily available to answer associate questions.
  • Maintain positive attitude with associates and applicants.
  • Responsibility for all personnel administrative paperwork and documentation.
  • Maintain close working relationships with management team.

Requirements

  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain a proactive human resources function to ensure associate motivation, training, and development, and ensure compliance with wage and benefit regulations and administration.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with all departments for associates' functions.
  • Scrupulously follow all StepStone and hotel policies and procedures.
  • Minimum lifting of 20 pounds, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterity.
  • Hearing, writing, typing.
  • Bachelor degree
  • Hilton experience preferred
