Job description

Midwest multi-disciplined engineering firm is looking to add a Construction Engineer to their Chicago Team!



Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison with contractor
  • Conduct on-site observation as needed
  • Coordinate construction activities
  • Maintain job site records (daily reports, job meeting minutes, approval drawings, and/or pay requests)
  • Observe/document construction activities and maintain a daily log of construction activities
  • Monitor progress schedule/shop drawing log
  • Review pay requests/verify completed work
  • Perform general civil engineering and client service duties



Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in Civil/Construction Engineering from an accredited program with an emphasis on construction engineering
  • 5+ years of progressive experience
  • PE License or ability to obtain within one year preferred
  • Past IDOT or Illinois Tollway project experience
  • Construction experience with Chicago DOT/Metra preferred
  • Experience with IDOT/Tollway construction management software preferred



Salary is commensurate with experience.
