Job Description

At least 10 years of proven work experience in Infrastructure development or from a combination of development and another IT domain. A variety of experience across roles is a plus, especially in

areas such as application development, Security, Network, storage and data management. 

At least 5 years of experience in/as Solution Architect and solution Design in relatively large organizations. 

At least 5 years of hands-on experience with two or more of the following disciplines but not limited to: 

o SAN, Citrix, VMware, Dell Blade servers, Network, , Security, Windows 2003/2008, UNIX/Linux, AIX, Solaris. 

Hadoop and Netezza 

Experience with data center consolidation and application migrations 

Experience with Virtualization in VMWare, or UNIX LPAR 

Experience with Microsoft Project, Visio, PowerPoint, Word and Excel with ability to generate documentation and presentations. 

Experience with MS SharePoint and other automation tools is big plus. 

Ability to work as part of a cross-cultural team including flexibility to support multiple time zones when necessary 

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills 

Able to juggle a broad set of competing functional-level requirements while also considering the near- and long-term impact on nonfunctional requirements such as performance, scalability, and reliability. 

Leadership and mentorship skills. Interpersonal skills are a must. Demonstrated ability to earn trust from others, able to influence their teams in the right direction and still know when to compromise. 

Strong communication skills. A solution architect needs the ability to communicate across different domains, articulate a solution to all parties, and stitch that solution together. 

Use creativity in applying these skills.

Qualifications

Educational requirements include at least a bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, information technology or a related discipline. Certifications related to system and network architecture through popular technology providers such as Cisco, IBM, HP, EMC, VMWare, BMC, Citrix and Microsoft are an important plus. Previous hands-on experience in the design, implementation and support of systems and networks are a must.
