Description

SAIC is seeking a highly skilled System Administrator to support the Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic (NIWC LANT) Cloud Computing Innovation, Transformation, and Integration (CLOUD CITI) Division. The position will involve supporting both physical and virtualized data center environments, including commercial cloud service providers. 

Candidate must be reside within a 50 mile radius of either Charleston, SC, New Orleans, LA or Norfolk, VA.

NOTE: On-call rotation every 5th week for a week to address Citrix related outages.

Responsibilities:

  • Build, configure, and deploy Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) systems.
  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot CVAD components on Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019, and 2022.
  • Manage Citrix NetScalers (physical and virtual) to ensure consistent performance and availability.
  • Enforce security compliance by applying DISA STIGs, managing patches, and updating Citrix and Windows environments via WSUS, Group Policy, and PowerShell.
  • Maintain, upgrade, and secure Windows servers to align with DoD and DISA standards.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues and support customer application needs.
  • Collaborate with virtualization and storage teams to optimize systems.
  • Document system configurations and operational processes using tools like SharePoint.
  • Review, manage, and troubleshoot incidents, changes, and service requests using ServiceNow and Jira.
  • Provide technical consulting and collaborate with stakeholders to recommend system enhancements and improvements.
  • Utilize Agile methodologies, including Kanban and Sprints.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools, particularly in PowerShell, for efficiency in system administration.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years or more of demonstrated experience; four (4) additional years of experience in lieu of degree. 
  • Strong knowledge of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD), Citrix NetScaler, and Windows Server technologies.
  • Expertise in Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell, and DNS management.
  • Experience implementing DISA STIGs and ensuring compliance with DoD security standards. 
  • Familiarity with service management tools such as ServiceNow and Jira.
  • Proven ability to work within cross-functional teams using Agile processes.

Required Security Clearance:

  • Active Secret clearance is required to start, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.

Required Certifications:

  • CompTIA Security+ certification (must be obtained within six months of hire).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Citrix Certified Associate, Professional, or Expert certifications.
  • Prior experience with commercial cloud service platforms.
