Senior Telecommunications Engineer


Hybrid Onsite 2/3 days


Role Overview


Seeking a Senior Telecommunications Engineer to support a large-scale transition from legacy, on-premises voice systems to modern cloud-based communications.


This is a hands-on role focused on enterprise voice, contact center, and collaboration technologies. The engineer will help design, configure, test, and execute migrations across multiple locations while working with internal teams, technology vendors, and telecommunications carriers.


Key Responsibilities



  • Lead the migration of legacy/on-premises phone systems to Cisco and/or Webex cloud calling solutions.

  • Deploy and support Cisco UC Cloud Calling and/or Webex Cloud Calling.

  • Implement and support Cisco Contact Center and/or Webex Contact Center solutions, including cloud and existing on-premises environments.

  • Support the implementation and use of Cisco AI Assistant for Webex Contact Center.

  • Gather business and technical requirements and translate them into deployment plans.

  • Coordinate number porting, call routing, dial plans, testing, and cutovers.

  • Work with carriers and technology vendors to coordinate implementations and resolve technical issues.

  • Partner with network and infrastructure teams to ensure sites are prepared for cloud voice migrations.

  • Troubleshoot voice, contact center, and collaboration issues before, during, and after deployment.

  • Develop technical documentation, migration plans, runbooks, and cutover procedures.

  • Manage multiple concurrent migrations while minimizing disruption to business operations.


Required Experience



  • Hands-on experience with enterprise telecommunications, unified communications, or voice technologies.

  • Experience with Cisco UC Cloud Calling and/or Webex Cloud Calling.

  • Experience with Cisco Contact Center and/or Webex Contact Center.

  • Experience migrating legacy or on-premises telephony environments to cloud-based platforms.

  • Experience with Cisco Webex Control Hub.

  • Working knowledge of SIP, VoIP, dial plans, call routing, number porting, and QoS.

  • Experience working with telecommunications carriers and technology vendors.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deployments simultaneously.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Preferred



  • Experience with Cisco AI Assistant for Webex Contact Center.

  • Experience supporting both cloud and on-premises contact center environments.

  • Knowledge of WAN, PBX, cellular, broadband, and enterprise networking technologies.
