Job Description
This is a very unique opportunity for an experienced hands-on Senior Network Engineer / Architect who specializes in assessing, designing, implementing and managing Cisco Route/Switch and various Security solutions utilizing Cisco, EMC, RSA, VMware (and similar products), and wants to leverage those experiences and skills in a dynamic, customer-facing role. Familiarization with Unified Communications and Data Center solutions would also be a plus. Compensation is a combination of a highly competitive base salary, as well as a percentage of Gross Profit generated. It is a true "Pay for Performance" environment with no cap on earnings. The Company is headquartered in the Carolinas and is a "go to" partner for many of their vendor partners. You will join a team of engineers / architects that stay on top of the latest technologies, and are committed to ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
As a Senior Network Engineer / Architect you are part of a team that is responsible for ensuring the full functionality and security of the Company's solutions. All engineers / architects must possess a solid baseline of core networking and security skills. This is a hands-on position, ideal for the engineer / architect who wants to develop and leverage expertise in all aspects of IT engineering / architecture, while working with a company where everyone participates in the financial success of this employee-owned company. They guarantee 100% customer satisfaction, so everything you do will be measured against that standard of excellence. The goal is to build a secure IT infrastructure and get it right the first time, every time.
Essential Functions:
  • Pre-Sales and Post-Sales engineering / architecture, implementation and management of a wide range of robust Infrastructure, Data Center, Unified Communications, Wireless and Security solutions.
  • Lead and conduct complex Network and Voice assessments, analyze results, develop and present post-assessment reports to clients, plus implement proposed solutions.
  • Partner with other Senior Engineers / Architects to support, manage and document a wide range of projects.
  • Conduct knowledge transfer sessions with key client staff.
  • Serve as a team leader, who is also available to fully participate with other team members in engineering functions (Player/Coach).

Responsibility:
  • The work can be highly varied at any given time, and could entail network and voice assessments, security solutions, networking, firewalls, wireless, data center, cloud, and other solution components. This is not a position for a single skill engineer /architect, but rather one for someone who brings a multi-discipline skillset and wants to learn and become excellent at a wide range of technologies and assessments.
  • This individual will apply his experiences and knowledge in solving problems that are complex in scope.
  • Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems and proposing solutions.

Qualifications
Requirements:
  • Embody Company's core virtues and beliefs.
  • This individual must be a US Citizen and live within 1 hour of Charlotte, NC or Greenville, SC.
  • Strong technical aptitude, people skills and a desire to learn best practice skills.
  • Proven leadership as a subject matter expert in Cisco's Networking and/or UC and/or Data Centers.
  • Strong grasp of industry and technology trends.
  • Solid understanding of Unix and Windows operating systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of documentation standards and change control procedures.

Desired Skills & Experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience is required.
  • High Energy, "Can-Do" attitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver multiple, complex technology projects.
  • Technical, Product and Security certifications are preferable.
  • Working knowledge of Assessments, Cloud Services, Cisco, EMC, RSA, Data Centers, Virtualization, and Programming, are all valuable assets.
