SEWS-Texas Customer Service Center (TCSC)
Job Title: Engineering Technologist I
Support TMMTX, and other related customer requirements during 2nd shift and support 1st shift as required. This person will investigate Quality Related Issues and Support Current and New Model Related Activities at all customer locations. This person will also support all quality related sorting activities with on-site suppliers, TCSC and other CSC's. This person will share 2nd Shift information and collaborate with all stakeholders.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supports repairs of SEWS product at customer's site by providing technical knowledge or performing actual repair. Collects quality information at the customers facility to establish quality standards and/or improvements. Tracks and monitors status of initial production parts. Monitors customers line to identify areas for improvement of SEWS Product.
  • Participates in New Model Project Development and follows Toyota SQAM requirement and/or PPAP documentation requirements with related SEWS departments, manufacturing, level 1 suppliers, and customers. Confirms and audits documents falsification and reports discrepancies to management and manufacturing sites.
  • Participates in current model/new model trial activity at the customer and documents details of any problems. Assists customer, Design Engineering with rework to evaluate potential design changes. Identifies and documents critical quality points for new model products.
  • Performs sorting or rework of customer's inventory in the event of quality or design problems. Communicates sorting instructions and standards to the SEWS Warehouse and responsible manufacturing plant.
  • Performs deep-root cause analysis to negotiate with customer's staff to eliminate claims charged to SEWS. Eliminate or Reduce High Annoyance Claims.
  • Maintains and organizes all quality related documents, engineering drawings, and daily reports (including QRE area at customer's facility). Send daily activity reports to SEWS distribution list.
  • Gathers and documents detailed information regarding defects or design problems for customer's process or actual vehicle. Passes details to manufacturing plant and SEWS QA management. Issues SEWS Trouble Reports or makes CIReS entry to initiate investigation / countermeasure activity. Monitors status of incoming products to assure countermeasures are effective. Communicates with customers concerning design changes, Quality Tuning Requests, and implementation timing. Supports PCR process by delivering documents and/or sample parts. Supports PCR trials with customer staff. Assure trial parts are properly labeled per customer's guidelines. Assists SEWS QA management by monitoring PCR status and updating weekly report.
  • Supports Warehouse Location Quality Activities as required. Follow SEWS/Customer Policy and other applicable job-related requirements at SEWS, Supplier and customer's facilities.
  • Some travel may be required. (Domestic/International).

Qualifications:
  • Education: HS/GED Technical Certificate.
  • 3-5 years progressing engineering experience.
  • Emphasizes in customer satisfaction and product knowledge.
  • Ability to travel and/or perform virtual audits to confirm countermeasure effectiveness.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with SEWS and Customers.
  • Maintain and promote a safe and healthy environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
