Job description

Van Metre has a Grounds/Janitorial Service Technician position available at The Piedmont Raleigh Apartments in Raleigh, NC!
The Grounds/Janitorial Service Technician will be responsible, under the direction of the Service Manager and Property Manager, for the overall cleanliness, appearance and basic maintenance of the apartment complex and all areas related to the day-to-day maintenance operations of the residential community.
Essential duties include but are not limited to:
  • Clubhouse and common area amenity cleaning/janitorial needs; empty trash daily, sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, cleaning windows, disinfecting restrooms and high touch areas, etc.
  • Restocking of products
  • Complete grounds work such as: grounds pick up, sweeping, pressure cleaning
  • Have knowledge or be willing to learn; electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry and painting
  • Have knowledge or be willing to learn; repairing and treating structures such as showers, sinks, appliances, doors/cabinets, walls and building exteriors
  • Assist maintenance technician and/or maintenance supervisor with make ready units for new move-ins
  • Assist with scheduling and completion of preventative maintenance program
  • Coordinate special projects as directed

Requirements:
Grounds/Janitorial Service Technician must maintain a professional and courteous manner with residents, visitors, contractors and fellow employees. Grounds/Janitorial Service Technician must have the necessary skills to effectively complete tasks outlined above. One must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions and be able to maintain effective and cooperative working relationships. This position requires the ability to stand and walk around the property for most of the day. This is a full-time position.
Education/Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Valid Driver's License and Reliable Transportation Required

Weekend work is required.
