Job description

Established in 1993, CIBA Insurance Services offers a unique insurance program that has become the benchmark for providing commercial property owners and managers with broad commercial coverage for property and liability risk protection. We are dedicated to providing our customers with unsurpassed service in underwriting, claims management, risk management, and providing innovative solutions to complex insurance needs. Our in-house legal defense team, CP Law Group, is looking for an Associate Attorney to join our Glendale-based team. The Associate Attorney will manage the defense of litigated premises liability matters for CP Law Group, an in-house law firm for CIBA Insurance Services.
CP Law Group currently maintains a hybrid work environment allowing Associate Attorneys to work both at home and from the Glendale office.
Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Complete case file responsibility providing for significant growth and experience
  • All aspects of preparing a defense to civil cases
  • Interview clients and witnesses
  • Review and summarize medical records and billing
  • Draft pleadings and discovery
  • Draft law and motion
  • Legal research on Westlaw
  • Argue motions/oppositions at court hearings
  • Some travel may be required

Salary

  • $140,000- $180,000 per year (DOE)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years civil litigation experience required
  • Experience in defending personal injury cases and/or habitability cases preferred
  • Licensed in California
  • Able to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work onsite one day a week at the corporate office in Glendale, CA
