Job description

Security Officer

We are looking for a highly motivated person to assist the full and part time staff of North Phoenix Baptist Church with their ongoing mission to provide a safe and secure environment for the Church Staff as well as the Congregants and Church visitors.

We are seeking a dependable, self-motivated individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills and a genuine attitude of service. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude and take pride in our campus and facilities.

Candidates should have knowledge of security protocols and the ability to effectively interact with members of the public in a professional and respectful manner, including with on campus events, our gym facility, church members, staff, and any other guests our weekly campus activities draw in.

Experience working in large-scale security operations is preferred. Prior law enforcement or military experience is a plus, but not required. CPR/AED certification is required.

Successful applicants will be team-oriented, adaptable, and committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all guests and staff.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Opening facilities on work days
  • Routinely monitoring the campus both on foot and via our campus wide security system
  • Operate internal door lock systems
  • Assist employees with building access as needed
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures
  • Check campus to ensure all appropriate areas are locked and secured
  • Ability to learn and use basic computer systems/softwares
  • Be able to work and perform all tasks with little supervision.
