Reports To: Executive Leadership
Opportunity:
Great Life Church is looking for the ideal candidate for a Church custodial position. We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Church Custodian to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of our facilities. The custodian will play a vital role in ensuring that the church is clean, safe, and welcoming.
Responsibilities will include:
- Clean and sanitize all areas of the church, including the sanctuary, fellowship hall, classrooms, offices, and restrooms.
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
- Empty trash and recycling bins regularly.
- Set up and arrange tables, chairs, and other equipment for services, events, and meetings.
- Perform minor repairs and report major maintenance issues to the property manager.
- Maintain supplies of cleaning materials and restock restrooms and other areas as needed.
- Ensure the security of the building by locking doors and windows after services and events.
- Assist with seasonal and special projects, such as decorating for holidays or assisting with outdoor clean-up.
- Perform additional duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of the church, including special events, weddings & funerals.
- Any other reasonable requests as delegated by ministry leadership
Qualifications:
- Previous custodial or maintenance experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to lift, move, and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed.
- Commitment to maintaining a respectful and positive attitude toward the church and its members.
- Must be an active and committed attender of Great Life Church
