Product Specialist (PS) for Chromatography & Mass Spec


DESCRIPTION:
Join Thermo Fisher Scientific Korea as a Product Specialist (PS) / Product Led Business Development (BD) professional covering our Chromatography & Mass Spectrometry portfolio. In this role, you will drive growth and customer success by combining application knowledge with commercial execution; building pipeline, improving win rates, and accelerating adoption of strategic products and NPIs.
You will act as a trusted technical commercial advisor to key accounts and field teams, translating customer pain points into clear value propositions, differentiated solution plays, and scalable go to market actions. You will work cross functionally with Sales, Marketing, Application Support, Service, and BU teams to execute initiative aligned growth plans and deliver a consistent “One Thermo Fisher” customer experience.
REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Life Science, Chemical Engineering, or related fields. 
  • 3+ years of experience in technical sales, product/application specialist, field application, or business development roles within analytical instrumentation or related life science/industrial area.
  • Prefer over 6 years of related experience
  • Hands on expertise in one or more of the following domains: GC/GC MS, IC, LC/LC-MS, ICP, sample prep, software/data workflows. 
  • Commercial & BD Capabilities (must have)
  • Proven ability to create and progress pipeline (not only support late stage deals): account targeting, opportunity qualification, and conversion acceleration. 
  • Strong competency in solution selling: converting VOC into value messages, competitive differentiation, and “need to win” plans. 
  • Ability to work with leading indicators (pipeline quality, stage velocity, win rate) and turn them into weekly execution priorities. 

Execution & Collaboration

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to simplify complex concepts into decision ready messages. 
  • Demonstrated success working in a matrix organization with Sales/Marketing/Application/Service/BU teams; strong ownership and follow through. 
  • Strong planning, prioritization, and project management skills; comfortable operating with multiple initiatives simultaneously. 

Tools & Language

  • Good at using CRM systems (Salesforce/SFDC preferred), MS Office (Excel/PowerPoint). 
  • Native-level Korean and able to use English for business (reading/writing/presenting). 
  • Willingness to travel within Korea (typically 50–70%, flexible depending on territory and customer needs).
