We are looking to fill a Scientist III - Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) and Analytical Support position working as a full-time employee of Parexel FSP on long-term assignment onsite at one of our clients located in West Point, PA. This position offers full benefits, sick time, 401K, paid holidays, and paid time off. This role does not offer sponsorship.

Qualifications

  • Scientist 3 - B.S. in Chemistry or related field with 3-5 years of experience; M.S. with 1-2 years

Responsibilities

Open Access and Instrument Support:

  • Responds to end-user repair calls for Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) and troubleshoots/repairs simple issues such as leaks or clogs.

  • Checks instrument performance and suitability as needed.

  • Submits and coordinates repair tickets for more complex issues.

  • Maintains accurate documentation and records.

Vaccines Analytical Support:

  • Sample preparations for routine analysis, including total protein, enzymatic digests, and electrophoresis.

  • Liquid Chromatography (LC) and Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) analysis of vaccine samples as needed.

  • Biophysical sample testing as needed, including particle size and thermal stability analysis

Provides General Lab support

  • General lab support, which may include; organization of pipette calibration, ordering lab supplies, general lab maintenance, COSMIC organization, shipping

Required Skills and Experience

Experienced in analytical characterization techniques such as:

  • Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) experience with Waters, Sciex, or Agilent LC-MS instrumentation and software

  • Reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC)

  • Sample preparation and handling

  • Plate-based analytical methods

  • Experience with operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS)

  • Highly organized, and capable of multi-tasking to manage system related schedules, documents, and maintenance tasks for multiple instruments

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in a fast paced, team environment.

  • Ability to multi - task and deliver on multiple priorities simultaneously.
