We're seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Analytical Chemist to support our environmental laboratory located in Conroe, TX.


This role is ideal for a technically skilled professional who enjoys solving complex analytical challenges, working with advanced instrumentation, and delivering high-quality data in a fast-paced laboratory environment. As an Analytical Chemist, you will play a critical role in generating accurate and defensible results through the operation of Ion Chromatography (IC) instrumentation, supporting environmental compliance, regulatory reporting, and client decision-making. You will work alongside a collaborative team of scientists and laboratory professionals while expanding your expertise in environmental analysis, quality systems, and laboratory operations.  



What You'll Do

  • Perform environmental and quality control sample analysis using Ion Chromatography (IC) in accordance with EPA methods, laboratory procedures, and quality standards
  • Prepare, process, and analyze environmental samples while ensuring compliance with established analytical methods and regulatory requirements
  • Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot IC instrumentation to maximize performance, data quality, and laboratory efficiency
  • Review, validate, and document analytical results within the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Evaluate quality control data and identify analytical trends, instrument performance concerns, or sample anomalies requiring investigation or corrective action
  • Support method verification, optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory performance
  • Assist with CAPA investigations, audit readiness activities, SOP updates, and quality system compliance efforts
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure adherence to data integrity, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with laboratory personnel to achieve turnaround time commitments, productivity goals, and client expectations
  • Uphold all laboratory safety policies and procedures while contributing to a culture of operational excellence
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related scientific discipline 
  • 2+ years of hands-on analytical laboratory experience, including operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing Ion Chromatography (IC) instrumentation 
  • Experience with QA/QC analysis, analytical data review, root cause analysis, method development, and CAPA preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is a plus
