Christian Rn information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Registered Nurse in a Christian healthcare setting, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Registered Nurse in a Christian healthcare setting, you need a solid background in nursing practice, patient care, and an active RN license, often complemented by familiarity with faith-based healthcare values. Experience with electronic health records (EHRs), patient monitoring devices, and relevant clinical management systems is essential. Compassion, strong communication, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to integrate faith-based perspectives are standout soft skills. These skills and qualities are crucial for delivering holistic, patient-centered care that aligns with both medical and spiritual needs in a faith-oriented environment.

How does being a Christian RN influence interactions with patients and colleagues in a healthcare setting?

As a Christian RN, your faith may guide you to approach patient care with added compassion, empathy, and ethical consideration, while still adhering strictly to professional standards and policies. Many Christian RNs find that their values help them provide holistic care, addressing not only physical but also emotional and spiritual needs when appropriate. In diverse healthcare environments, it's important to respect all beliefs and backgrounds, ensuring that personal faith enhances, rather than hinders, collaboration with colleagues and culturally sensitive care for patients. Open communication and understanding boundaries are key to maintaining professionalism and building trust within the team.

What are Christian RNs?

Christian RNs are registered nurses who incorporate their Christian faith into their nursing practice. They provide the same medical care as all RNs but may also offer spiritual support, prayer, and faith-based counseling to patients who request it. These nurses often work in faith-based hospitals, clinics, or mission settings, and their approach emphasizes compassion, holistic care, and respect for patients' spiritual needs.

What is the difference between Christian Rn vs Medical Assistant?

Job RoleProvide patient care, administer medications, coordinate treatmentsAssist with patient intake, vital signs, administrative tasks

Christian Rns and Medical Assistants both work in healthcare settings, but Christian Rns typically hold nursing licenses and provide direct patient care, often in faith-based environments. Medical Assistants perform supportive tasks like patient intake and administrative duties. The roles differ mainly in scope, credentials, and responsibilities, but both are vital in healthcare delivery.

Description

Ready to lead with purpose and make an impact when it matters most? At Pine Haven Christian Home, our LPN or RN PM Nurse Supervisor plays a key role in guiding the team, supporting quality care, and ensuring our residents feel safe, comfortable, and cared for throughout the night. This is more than a leadership role-it's an opportunity to mentor staff, collaborate across departments, and create a calm, well-run environment where both residents and team members can thrive. If you're a confident nurse who enjoys leading others, solving problems, and bringing steady, compassionate leadership to every shift, you'll feel right at home at our Haven Drive campus.

  • Make shift rounds to observe the physical and psychosocial status of residents and staff compliance with care requirements.
  • Provide direct nursing care as necessary, and administer prescribed medications and treatments per MD orders. Maintain competence in all required skills within the facility.
  • Attend team meetings as scheduled.
  • Ensure that residents are treated with respect and dignity, and perform nursing duties with the comfort and wellbeing of each resident in mind.
  • Participate in weekend on-call rotation with Assisted Living Managers and other administrative clinical staff members.
  • Work beyond normal work hours and in other positions temporarily when required. May be subject to call-back under emergency circumstances.
  • Immediately report any suspected abuse or neglect per facility policy.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
  • Report any observed changes in a resident's needs and/or condition immediately and as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Nursing degree from an accredited college or university, or graduate of an approved LPN or RN program.
  • An unencumbered, active license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse or a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin.
  • Minimum three years' experience as a staff nurse in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility. Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership/supervisory skill and willingness to work harmoniously with others. Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care.

Benefits

  • Competitive pay rates with opportunities for advancement.
  • Comprehensive training and ongoing professional development.
  • Health, dental, vision, and pet insurance options for eligible employees. (Full time employees working 60-80 hours every 2 weeks)
  • Paid time off for eligible employees (working a minimum of 32 hours every 2 weeks)
  • Educational assistance
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Wellness Program
  • Discounted meal plan
