The ministry began with the church located in Costa Mesa, CA and has flourished and expanded into a multifaceted ministry, which includes Christian Schools, a Bible College, a School of Worship, Christian Radio Stations, Christian radio programs, Christian book distribution, and Christian bookstores. Calvary Chapel Schools was established to meet the educational, social, and spiritual needs of the children of Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa, pastored by Pastor Brian Brodersen. CCS is a ministry of CCCM, building up Christian leaders in mind, body, and soul through Biblical truth, character development, and strong academic pursuits, enabling students to serve and enjoy Christ and their community.

Position Purpose / Summary

Under direct supervision, the Playground/Daycare Staff assists school staff in maintaining the safety and well-being of students during eating and playground activity by monitoring designated areas as assigned; and performs related duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will be a minister of the Gospel in this position by prayer for and with students and being an example for them in your relationship with Jesus Christ. They will have a strong and active relationship with Jesus Christ. Their relationship with Christ will be an example to the staff, students, and parents.

Responsibilities / Duties / Functions / Tasks

• Agree with and live out the vision and values of CCCM as outlined in the Statement of Faith (www.cccm.com).
• Be an example to those with whom you come in contact and with whom you serve by exuding the love of Christ.
• Understand that it is a privilege to serve the Lord in vocational ministry and that those who serve God on staff at CCCM are expected to embrace a high biblical, Christ-like standard of conduct and lifestyle, both public and personal
• Supervises students in the playground, hot Lunch lines and eating areas.
• Patrols student restrooms to control over-crowding.
• Helps guide students in developing good habits of sportsmanship and citizenship.
• Encourages and promotes courtesy among students.
• Ensures that safety rules are obeyed and applies school site student conduct code.
• Assists students in resolving minor conflicts on the playground.
• Follows school protocols for student discipline and office referrals.
• May assist school PE teachers with helping implement PE class activities
• On rainy or inclement weather days may supervise students in classrooms to allow teachers a lunch break.
• Assists with the preparation and signing of accident reports if students are injured.
• Directs students to health office as applicable.
• Assists and directs school visitors to the office; assists and supervises students as they leave or enter the school grounds.
• Reports unauthorized activities and unauthorized persons on school grounds to appropriate authority.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Playground or lunch area environment, indoor and outdoor; extended exposure to sun or inclement weather; noise of children at play. Vision to monitor student behavior during assignment. Hearing and speaking to provide guidance to students and to communicate with staff. Dexterity of hands and fingers to participate in various activities with students. Bending at the waist and kneeling; standing and walking for extended periods of time.
