What is a chiropractor assistant?

Chiropractor Assistants are healthcare professionals who support chiropractors in their daily practice. Their responsibilities typically include greeting patients, scheduling appointments, managing records, preparing treatment rooms, and sometimes assisting with basic patient care under supervision. They play an important role in ensuring the clinic runs smoothly and patients have a positive experience. In some states or clinics, they may also assist with therapeutic modalities or exercises as directed by the chiropractor.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a chiropractor assistant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Chiropractor Assistant, you need a basic understanding of anatomy, strong organizational skills, and often a high school diploma or relevant certification. Familiarity with scheduling software, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and basic office equipment is typically required. Excellent interpersonal communication, attention to detail, and a compassionate attitude help you stand out in this patient-facing role. These skills are crucial for ensuring efficient clinic operations, a positive patient experience, and effective support for chiropractors.

What are some common challenges faced by a chiropractor assistant, and how can they be managed effectively?

Chiropractor Assistants often juggle multiple responsibilities, such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and assisting with patient care. One common challenge is efficiently balancing administrative tasks with direct patient interaction, especially during busy hours. Developing strong organizational skills and being comfortable with electronic health record systems can help manage these demands. Additionally, clear communication with the chiropractor and other team members ensures that the office runs smoothly and patients receive timely care.

Hours: Full-time, approximately 42-45 hours/week; Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 7:15am-11:45am, 12:45pm-5:45pm; Tuesday: 10:00am-12:00pm, 12:45pm-5:45pm; Friday: 7:15am-1:00pm; Weekend Starts at 1pm on Fridays
Mission: At 100% Chiropractic, we’re transforming healthcare in Chattanooga by creating a warm, healing environment where patients feel like family. As a Chiropractic Assistant, you are the heartbeat of this mission, crafting unforgettable patient experiences through deep connections, guiding wellness journeys, and leading patient flow with confidence and care.
Who We Are

Founded by Dr. Bryan and Courtney Christoffer, 100% Chiropractic Northshore is built on authenticity, heart, and a relentless passion for helping our community thrive. Our Northshore location is a space where patients are empowered to live their best lives through chiropractic care and holistic wellness. We’re seeking passionate, positive, and mission-driven individuals to join our tight-knit team and make a lasting impact.
Your Role: Crafting a Phenomenal Patient Journey

As a Chiropractic Assistant, your #1 priority is to create an **exceptional patient experience** by building deep, personal connections and guiding patients through their wellness journey with expertise and care. You’ll spend ample time with patients, engaging in meaningful, non-transactional interactions that make them feel valued, understood, and inspired. By reinforcing the doctor’s recommendations and living a healthy lifestyle, you’ll empower patients to achieve their care plan goals. As the Point Person, you’ll lead patient flow, over-communicate with doctors and team members, and ensure seamless operations so the doctors can focus solely on care.
Key Responsibilities

Build Deep Patient Connections

- Engage every patient in a 30-60 second personalized conversation during each visit, using eye contact and intentionality to build rapport and add value (e.g., ask about their goals, celebrate milestones, or share a kind word).
- Spend time out from behind the desk, interacting with patients to create impactful, non-transactional moments.
- Make follow-up calls with the warmth and care you’d show a favorite family member, ensuring patients feel supported and connected.
Champion the Patient Journey

- Become an expert in each patient’s care plan and goals, tracking their progress, holding them accountable, and celebrating their successes to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Educate patients on chiropractic principles with passion and clarity, inspiring them to embrace positive lifestyle changes.
Lead as Point Person

- As a direct assistant to the Chiropractor(s), you’ll be responsible for preparation of the day with a focus on excellent patient experience and to minimize hiccups that can cause the flow of the office to become derailed (excessive wait times, poor patient experience, lack of connection, bad first impressions, etc).
- Step into the Point Person role at any time, fluidly entering and exiting as needed to prioritize patient flow and team tasks.
- Communicate patient journey updates to doctors, ensuring they can focus exclusively on care without managing flow or team dynamics.
- Delegate tasks to team members, clearly outlining their role in each patient’s journey, and prioritize patient interactions (e.g., engaging before an empowerment session) over computer work.
- Stay 3-5 steps ahead of doctors by anticipating their needs, answering unasked questions, and over-communicating to maintain seamless operations.
Inspire Wellness with Expertise

- Embody a healthy lifestyle, demonstrating clean eating, spinal health practices, and holistic wellness to serve as a credible role model.
- Reinforce the doctor’s recommendations by sharing approved guidance on supplements, nutrition, and holistic solutions for common ailments (e.g., headaches, muscle tension, lack of sleep), ensuring all advice aligns strictly with the doctor’s prescribed care plan to support patient wellness safely and professionally.
Support Practice Operations

- Manage patient scheduling, check-ins/outs, and daily cash deposits with meticulous attention to detail.
- Handle insurance verifications, patient financial conversations, and accounts receivable with sensitivity and accuracy.
- Hold patients accountable to their care plan by ensuring they are scheduled out 3-6 weeks in advance for all adjustments, massages, laser sessions, and special appointments.
- Enter doctor recommendations into ChiroPlan for clear and professional financial presentations.
- Maintain a clean, inviting office environment that reflects our commitment to care.
Amplify Our Mission

- Contribute to social media (in front of and behind the camera) to share our vision and connect with the community.
- Support digital marketing, in-office events, and outreach programs to build relationships and attract new patients.
- Manage CRM for social media leads and ensure timely communication via Slack, voicemails, and faxes.
- Participate in and perform an active role in team meetings with the intention of fostering a collaborative environment towards improving the manifestation of our mission.
Lead with Heart

- Lead pre-shift meetings and prepare for key appointments to keep the team aligned and focused.
- Track and achieve practice goals/metrics, taking ownership of daily tasks to ensure success.
- Embrace continuous learning to master 100% Chiropractic systems and inspire your teammates.
What We’re Looking For

Heart for Connection: You’re kind, empathetic, and energized by building meaningful relationships, making every patient feel like family through intentional, eye-to-eye interactions.
Wellness Expertise: You live a healthy lifestyle and are committed to reinforcing the doctor’s recommendations on nutrition, supplements, spinal health, and holistic solutions with professionalism and care.
Leadership and Proactivity: You can seamlessly step into the Point Person role, over-communicating with doctors and team members, prioritizing patient interactions, and staying ahead of needs.
Be a Self-Starter: You can provide flexibility (ability to pivot on the fly) to provide optimal outcomes. This includes being able to learn new systems, products, treatments, ideal patient flow modifications, and new technology .
Detail-Oriented Experience: You notice the little things (e.g., a patient’s goals or a missed follow-up) and act on them to elevate the experience.
Coachability and Growth Mindset: You’re open to feedback, eager to learn, and committed to getting 1% better every day.
Team Spirit: You value team chemistry and contribute to a supportive, collaborative culture where everyone thrives.
